I'm just wondering if I'm the only one, or if this is a common symptom.
If a TV is on, I almost have to watch it, and if I turn is on in the morning I will not stop watching it for hours and hours. I had to get rid of cable, I had been without it for 10 years for this very reason, but somehow thught I had outgrown it. NOT!! I was HOOKED within a month.
The internet i not much better. It's almost like these are the only 2 things that I actually can focus on and once I do I can't seem to stop.

Internet's another story.
I need stuff that is interactive.
Forums are my vice.
I watch TV with my laptop on my lap, surfing the web. My cable is out but I will leave that one channel I get, on all day!! It drives me crazy because there is so much I need to do!! I am not sure I am even watching the TV but I have to have it and the internet on when I am home...somehow I need to be connected!!

I can't watch TV. Sometimes I try when my friends or family watch but I never even make it till the end of a 30 minute show before insanely bored and running off to find something else to do.
The internet and video games are completely different. I can spend hours on them and never rarely get bored. I definately agree with barbyma, I need something that is interactive to hold my attention. Even in school I had a real hard time finishing most of my courses but I loved classes like bio lab and chem lab because I actually got to do something.

I really do not watch tv but if there is a show on that I really like, I will sit down for a few minutes. I honestly can not tell you the last time I watched a show from beginning to end.
Now if you would to do a poll on being addicted to the internet.............I would have to say YES to that one!!

I watch TV by taping all my favorite shows.
If I can fast forward through all the commercials.
And sometimes a boring scene then I'm good to go.
I find it hard to sit there watching while they are actually on.
Because the commercials make me channel surf.
Then I forget what I was watching and don't go back to it.
And if I start to get bored I end walking away and missing most of the show.
I keep the TV off most of the time so I can get my stuff done.
And I'm not distracted by it. :o

I watch too much tv. I can follow the shows pretty much (though I do notice more when I see a re-run) but I zone out durring commercials. I remember there was this beer commercial that I always noticed the end of but never "saw" the beginiing and it really bugged me. People sitting with me always laugh or make a comment about a commercial, but most of the time I'm looking at it but not seeing it.

TiVo!!!
I sometimes wonder how on Earth I got by without today's gadgets -- and we've only had TiVo for a couple of years!
With TiVo, when DH laughs or says, "Did you see that?" all we have to do is hit "rewind".
