View Full Version : You know the Adderall has worn off when...
LacyLew 01-11-06, 09:33 PM I go to an evening meeting and start blurting out really stupid things!!
I was at a Sunday School teacher's meeting tonight. I teach 15-20 rowdy 2nd and 3rd graders in a room the size of a closet. Our pastor was asking us tonight to tell him some things we could add to our rooms to make improvements.
The un-adderalled me said, "There are some days I sure could use a liquor cabinet in there!!" My church isn't conservative at all, but nobody said anything.
sheez........
hoosiergirl 01-11-06, 11:38 PM .....hmmm...nice to know that there is someone else in the world that does those things.......

LOL! :p
My"un-Adderalled" self gets horrible migraines. In fact, Adderall was the ONLY thing, ever, that helped prevent migraines. I call it my "Migraine Preventative" if someone I don't know happens to see me take my dose. Also, my "un-adderalled" self gets very weepy.
Hyperion 03-02-06, 10:11 PM This used to happen consistently as it wore off, and was also a normal thing before I started taking it:
Sitting in my chair at my desk, I pick up the remote and turn on the TV. I then put down the remote and take a sip of water or soda or something, or read something online for a second. Then I notice that I want to watch something different on TV or change the volume or something, so I pick up the....what the hell, where did the remote go? Damned gremlins.
Gourmet 03-02-06, 10:31 PM I'm useless when the Adderall wears off.
I swear that the 'symptoms' are many times worse as soon
as it leaves my system...but the doctor says no.
That it is the cotrast between functioning and not
functioning....and that now my eyes are open to how
bad I really was before.
I think I need an introveinious drip to cart around.
Can anyone hook me up?

Yeah... I have those. Gizmo and Stripe are frequent visitors! ;) Drives me crazy!!! They take my keys, remote, smokes, clothes... come to think of it... there is not much they don't take, unless I nail it to the floor.

Good idea! Let us know when you find a way to pursue THAT option! :p

Matt S. 03-08-06, 08:23 PM when i was on adderall and it started it's gradual slide i tended to wind up and not be able to sleep and got rather snappy and mean... i used to call it "adderall rage" i take dex now and if it is hasn't worn off by bedtime i can sleep my doctor calls this the true "parodoxical effect" because even with "hyperactive/impulsive types", like myself, it tends to keep them awake (according to him)... i have heard similar experiences from people in here that stimulants will help them sleep
green mnm 03-09-06, 06:54 PM My mood crashes when it wears off..and in addition.. I get annoyed easily.
MindResearcher 03-09-06, 07:29 PM I hear everyone here. Let me explain a bit detail of adderall IR 30mg pill. From what I gather, Say you take it with water, not chewing it, on a carbohydrate/protien mix stomach, it seems to begin to work about one hour. I mean, I dont feel that kick as the first few days if you take a vacation but you start to clean get up and do things. Sometimes, i dont, and fall back out. Imay take a 200mg caffiene pill.
But adderall is suppose to Peak (the IR version , in 3 hrs, but then 4-6 hrs, diminish. I find 5hrs, i take another dose, because since it takes one hour to work on me, by hour 6, im starting to feel the lethargic unmotivated feeling, so i dont wana rollicoaster ride all day.
I dont mind IR, and I dont like Xr, doesnt respond at all to my body. Never tried dexedrine, but spanuals I did and was way to weak.
There is no way, and Im thankfull im perscirbed 3 30mg a day, because thats a coverage of say 16 hrs. There would be no way to take 2 doses, say the second one at 3pm, and I usually am up to 3am, so by 9-10pm I would be zombie like. I tried different ways to try and extend it, but no luck, see my post on adderall.
artificialsteve 03-10-06, 05:44 AM this is sort of backwards, but before I started taking adderall (20mgxr) I would do this thing I call "the chain"...wake up and smoke, then have a coffee, then have an after coffee cigarette, then have an after cigarette coffee, then I would get mad thinking about how tired I would get digesting breakfast so I would just skip it alltogether!!! I would most likeley sit and think about all of the things I could be accomplishing and that for some strange reason gave me a secret excitement(I think this is what normal people call "motivation")
So then I would start to work on a project and unless I was VERY interested in it I would distract myself in about ten minutes thinking about all of the other things I could/should/would be doing! So I just ended up resorting to the chain again....cig, coffee, sit and think about thinking about thinking about ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING!.....It would get so bad that sometimes I literally could not take a step forward because the thought of completing anything was enough to keep me occupied! Does that seem wierd??
Anyway to keep this relevant to the forum I don't want that to happen again....but for some reason I can't really tell when it wears off(the adderall) some days I can't feel it working and some days I can't sleep if my life depended on it, I think once my body normalizes to the drug it won't be so extreme!!!:D
