I started Adderall a week ago, and am not sure what I should be looking for to know if it's working. I was previously on Strattera (allergic) and Concerta (no effect at 18 mg, unable to tolerate a higher dose), and am currently on Wellbutrin for depression (doesn't seem to help with ADD). On none of these have I felt some radical change in focus, concentration, or energy. I'm wondering if I don't know what I should be looking for.

A lot of you have noted that certain drugs worked very well for you, and I've looked and found things like "better focus" mentioned a lot, but how noticeable was this?

On Concerta, after the sleepiness of the first couple weeks wore off, I noticed that I'd go into the other room for someting, and remember what I'd gone in there for (a first), but that's IT. On Adderall (20 mg), I don't think I really notice any change yet, but I'm wondering if it's subtle and I'm missing it? I mean, I don't want to eat at all beofre 10 pm, and my poor boyfriend is considering putting a padlock on his zipper, but there are no mental shifts I can pinpoint. I'm still having a hard time organizing and getting around to doing things.

How big was the change you noticed when you felt a drug started to work for you? What concrete things (i.e. "I never could do ____, but now I can!") changed for you? I ask because I'm starting a statistics class this week that is the bane of my existence, and the reason I began exploring ADD drugs in the first place, and I'm wondering if there's a change I'm maybe missing.

"padlock on his zipper" LOL yea, I noticed this in myself too...

Okay....on Adderall...

I'm calm.
I'm even.
I do things and they are not a big deal.....things that would normally frustrate me and overwhelm me...ie laundry, paying bills....I do them without much of a thought, or wonder why it was a big deal before...I guess I notice it's working because although I don't physically feel different save for the calmness about me, I do things without getting frustrated.

That's how I know it's working. :)
