My son is 7 years old and has been taking 10mg gen. Adderal and Clonidine for the past 1 1/2 yrs with only slight modifications with his dosage. But now I'm seeing a dramatic difference in the late afternoon and evenings. His mood changes so much it's unbearable. He constantly cries about anything. He's very irritable and angry over the slightest things. Temper tantrums everyday, yelling and always picking at his sisters. I noticed this change in the past 2 months but thought it would get better. But I swear it's getting worse.

At school, he's fine. A little distracted late in the day but nothing his teacher is getting worked up about. At daycare, they are noticing changes in his mood also. And getting homework completed in a timely manner is out of the question - if he even completes it at all.

I plan on calling his dr in the morning but I'm just wondering if anybody else had this problem? Could it be the medication?? I was reluctant to blame it on the Adderal at first because he's been on it so long. But at this point I'm desperate!

He's a growing kid, so it's most likely he needs an adjustment to his dose. I imagine the doc will recommend a moderate increase.

Exactly what barbyma said. The grow, their needs change. He may need to be put on a higher dosage now.
