Dose: 30mg in am, 20mg in afternoon (when needed, I don't always have to take it)
Regular, Generic (Eon Labs)
Been on it for about 7 years, I love it - it's made such a difference in my life, I can actually focus and finish things i've started.
No major side effects, only problem is if I don't have time to eat before taking my morning dose I get really wired.
Other meds: Prozac (10 years), Claritan (seasonal, not year round)

I'm happier and getting more done than I ever have in my life. I've had some problems staying asleep at night, but not falling asleep. I had sleep problems before starting stimulants however.
I also take 60 mg Cymbalta.

andrec24 01-30-06, 03:23 AM I lost 20 lbs in the first six months of taking it but then gained ten back (now 170 lbs). Using these cordinates what is the diameter of my belly? Just kidding. I take 60mg/day. Tried eon, ranbaxy, shire, and Mallinckrodt. Barr was like a placebo, eon and shire felt the same (slow and long lasting) and ranbaxy and mallinckrodt felt the same (potent but short).
Weight: 98pounds
Dose: 20mg in the morning and 20mg before lunch (as needed)
I only take Shire brand Adderall (i had an allergic reaction to the Barr)
I have been on it for about 6 or 7 months.
No major side effects, sometimes I have trouble sleeping (but I always have) so I take a little nyquil. It has made my life so much better...
Adamant1988 01-30-06, 05:41 AM How much do you weigh? 131 .lbs (I don't know my metric weight, off hand...)
How many mg do you take? 25 mg
Brand or generic? if generic, what kind? I take Brand name.
Regular or XR? XR, yep.
How long have you been taking it? I've been on this dose for about a month...
Overall experience with it? I started taking Adderall after Strattera, and I love it. It calms me down, keeps my impulses in check and helps me focus on my work. In all seriousness, my grades went from BDFF, to AAAD (I had one teacher who is of the belief I am a liar and jipped me out of points on creative assignments). Uhm, the first few days it did make me lose my appetite really badly, but I adjusted within a few days to that, so no biggie. I've lost a little bit of weight (I started at 140.lbs) but I have a lot of reasons to have lost weight: I've been excercising more, I've lost the urge to drink coke-a-cola ( a significant portion of my diet before Adderall, like 12 cans a day, significant), and I've had surgery and was given very potent pain-relievers. My overall experience with Adderall has been extremely positive, I was spared the unfortunate side-effects that many others have recieved from it.
sammael 01-30-06, 01:24 PM Weight: 195lbs
Dosage: 30mg
Brand: Adderall XR
I've been taking Adderall for about a month now and it's been a great medicine for me. The benefits have been amazing. I no longer approach everyday activities as chores that I want to avoid or postpone. I'm able to simple see what needs to be done, do it, and move on. I've also been much happier as the concommitant guilt that came along with not accomplishing anything has disappeared. My work has improved immensley as well as my energy levels during the day (no more compulsive napping). I am able to multitask without stress.
There have been some side effects that are uncomfortable. I have lost about 15 pounds over the last month (by the way, I'm a 27 year old, 5'10", healthy, active male) due to the appetite suppression. I try to eat as large a breakfast as possible and chase it with my Adderall XR. Until late in the evening when my appetite returns, I try to keep dense, healthy foods around (oatmeal, peanutbutter bagels) and force myself to eat a bite when I think about it just to maintain my weight. It would actually be an excellent diet for maintaining a high metabolism if it just weren't so hard to make myself eat.
Overall, I am very happy to have found this medicine and am continuing to enjoy my newly acquired discipline and drive.

sherigraph 01-31-06, 09:42 AM My son has lost just under 2 lbs the first month. Appetite at first, not great. Now he eats pretty good. Still working on getting him to keep his room picked up, but not a major concern. The main difference now from before he started Adderall XR is He now eats breakfast when he wouldn't before. I make him smoothies every morning. Has strawberries, banana's, yogurt, orange juice and sometimes different fruits. So I would say that is a huge improvement for him.
