I need help/tips on how to deal with a couple of symptoms of ADD.
First of all the excessive talking. No matter how much I try I can't seem to stop talking whenver I get the chance. I wonder if there are any helpful tips any of you can give me to control this....my meds just don't help it lately.
Secondly, I am a very intelligent woman but sometimes talking to me it doesn't seem like it. I have a hard time putting what I want to say into words. I blurt of the weirdest things, things I don't even know what they mean. I don't know maybe I am just weird but I have been told I don't make sense sometimes when I talk. Any advice on that anyone?
That is all I have for this posting. Thank you.

well i sure can relate to that... i have a tendency to just blurt out whatever comes to mind. I'll even stumble over my own words at times and it really doesn't help my image in the eyes of others. What I tend to do a lot is say something offensive, even when its a compiment!
the only tip i know of is to conciously remind yourself before you step into a conversation, and before every 'line' you utter:
- to only say what is nessecary and appropriate for the topic
- to phrase what you say as not to offend
hope this helps :)
and that others might have more to add, id like to know too!

"Mrs. Brewster said I could give her that paper and then she'd jsut grade it instead of me redoing it"
"I AM Mrs. Brewster"
"Oh, mybad"
I haven't learned to control the talking or the saying w/e mis-information comes to mind, with anything short of Adderall, that is.

I talk a lot too just left a thread of ADDers with the opposite problem, they can't get their words out at all!!!!
Maybe the excessive talkativeness or silence is more of an ADD thing than the behavior itself, but I do agree that being unable to insert foot quick enough into oral cavity can create some social difficulties.
I think with me..because I don't see WT and I don't get together on a daily basis..I try to get it 'all in' at once.. (0:
I'm definitely more chatty than he is via email and the phone, but he holds his own IRL.
I want to say it's a 'girl' thing..but I know girls who aren't as chatty as I am...email, IM, IRL or otherwise.
It's just me. (0:
I like being chatty too, LOL !
