i am new to the forums. i wanted advise because i think i have ADD and wanted to go to check with a doctor becasue i am struggling alot in college, but my parents and girlfriend are in denial and they only tell me to keep studiyng, but they donot understand that i can not focus on any on my assignments and almost everything. I do not have a job so i can not pay for the doctor. any advise?

A DOCtor maybe try county MHMR services. This may help to put your mind at rest along with your familys and girlfriend.Gotta go my nephew won't stop playing with the buttons so i have to go stop him now

Go to the Disability Support Services in your college and tell them you can't afford to pay for a doc, and explain your family won't finance you because they don't believe you have a problem, although you're probably the better judge of that! it would also prob earn you points if you explain that you can't pay because you don't have a job precisely because your suspected ADD is making it very difficult to cope (I'm assuming thats why anyway, correct me if im wrong)


As far as I know they help with testing in US colleges, they don't where I come from unfortunately. Make use of it!

i went today to the counseling services on my college today and they give me an apppointment to go on monday to see a counselor to check me out and than we'll see after that what happens. thanks for the advise everyone i did not knew what to do. before i went to the counseling services i call some psychiatrist and scared me with what they charged..... $450 dlls! i would not be able to pay that by myself.

County MHMR usually have sliding scale pay rates!!!!
