Went and saw the phychiatrist yesterday. I had seen him 2 years ago and he had said it looked like I had mild ADD. I couldn't do meds at the time as I was nursing my baby. So now, 2 years later, and this past month of thinking of going to someone else to diagnose, but they weren't in my insurance, thinking I would have to shell out $$$'s I remembered I did go to him and it turns out this Dr is with out new insurance also. Thank goodness!

So.... I talked with him and he gave me a Rx for generic Adderall. 10mg's 2x per day. I took 5mg at 4:30 yesterday. Didn't want to take a full one first time. And I took it then so I would know if side effects hit me right away, dh would be home. I didn't notice a difference last night I don't think. But i didn't take much. I did feel a little nauseous about 4 hours later. From the med??

This morning I took 10mg. So we will see how it goes today.

I haven't noticed any difference so far today.

Should it start immediately or does it take a few days to see a difference?

Great news from you! :D

Please do let us know how things go for you. There's lots of us who take Adderall (myself included). :)

The effects can take anywhere from a day to a week to be noticed, from what I've been told. However, it may also be that this is too low of a dosage for you, or it may not even be the right med.

Take it one step at a time :)

It takes practice to realize wha it is doing, but as a stimulant, it does its thing right away. I'm droping to 5 mg because I want it to do less, bu just make it possible for me to do what i want...

You need time to let yourself catch on to what it does,...

what is "dh"? "dd"?

dh -- dear husband

dd-- dear daughter

I think I was less fidgety at church tonight. That is, until I realized it-- and then I was so concious of whether I was doing it or not. But I think the leg swinging, wiggling was a bit less.

I find that subtle changes in me make big changes in the way people respond to me.

Thus, me on drugs irritates them less, and then they irritate me less.

I don't "nearly drop off" when I should be awake, or fell like I can't fight through the fog to stand awake.

though sometimes I feel like I am only techicnally "upright." An important part of my brain sometimes still doesn't feel like it has reported for duty...

Still even then it is better...
