Does anyone know about products like Attend, Focus ADHD Formula, and Calm Child?
This would be for my son, he is 9. We do not want to get him on meds yet.
We have changed our diet, more organic food, more veggies, less sugar (soda...)
Thanks

I do not know what is in those formulas, and you certainly should make sure that you can obtain, in writing, their ingredients and how much are in each pill. Even if they are herbal ingredients, those can still be dangerous if used in too high an amount or if mixed with certain drugs. Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean that it is safe, there are a number of "natural" plants like foxglove that you would not want to consume. In addition, St. John's Wort, a popular herbal medicine, is a mild Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor, which is a type of drug which cannot be mixed with just about anything due to the possibility of dangerous effects. So please, be sure to get all the ingredients in writing.
The other thing to remember is that these medications have not gone through the rigorous, expensive, and lengthy approval process that prescription drugs have. There is no actual scientific literature describing their effectiveness, no studies to confirm that they will actually cure your symptoms, and no safety testing. These are meds, don't let the "natural" label fool you, but if your concern is safety and efficacy, you are better off with pharmaceutical medication.

We tried Be'Calmed, Focus Attention and neither worked. Also did the flax seed, vitamins etc.... We have found Adderall XR to work. The others just didn't work for our son and his inattentiveness.

They don't work for the clinical treatment of ADHD.
L- dopa doesn't work in the mesocortical pathway; so it doesn't matter what's in them as far as ADHD is concerned.

I ordered Focus, heard about it on the radio, it has been over 2 years, it did
nothing for me. It was like taking nothing.

I tried Calms Forte for myself and didn't find it to be much help. After some more research I tried Omega 3 from fish oil and have been delighted in how much it helps me. I ran out and thought I would try Omega 3 from flax seed oil and was way worse again within a week. I'm back on fish oil supplements now and doing so much better again.
