I've got severe ADHD and was on meds for about a year. My ADHD diagnosis came about at the same time I got diagnosed with severe anxiety, depression, OCD, and a myriad of other anxiety type problems. So I took a lot of meds, 200 mgs of Adderall daily for one. But several months back I went off of them because I got very sick and wanted to see, even though the docs said they couldn't cause it, if I'd get better. Before I went on the meds I was in full swing of severe ADHD, I could barely function. But now that I've been off them for a while, I can think clearly. I'm able to remember things. How could this be? I know that some types of ADHD can be so bad that meds won't help, and that's what I was told was the case with me. So was the severe anxiety causing my ADHD symptoms to be so much worse than normal?
I know I really have severe ADHD because I went through 5 days of grueling tests, and they were very eye-opening about ways my brain wasn't working properly.
