The world's leading online ADHD and Disorder Support Community acheived another milestone this week by welcoming its 10,000th member, more than doubling its membership in less than six months.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- This week the world's leading online ADHD and Disorder Support Community acheived another milestone by welcoming its 10,000th member, effectively doubling its membership in less than six months.

Attention Deficit Disorder, also known as ADD, ADHD and AD/HD, is a very common condition which is becoming better known through education of the public via the Internet and the Media. The "H" in ADHD means hyperactivity and is included in the disorder. According to recent studies, approximately 5% of children and 4.3% of the U.S. adult population, have ADHD. Chances are that in one way or another the average person is affected by ADHD. A person’s co-worker, spouse, grandchild, sibling, employee or anybody else for that matter may have ADHD.

Many people who are affected by Attention Deficit Disorder are looking for support and information. Over 7500 people have found an online community to receive both information and support about ADHD and comorbid disorders. Other co-existing conditions discussed at the ADD Forums include Anxiety Disorders, Autism Spectrum, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Learning Disorders, and Tourettes Syndrome. Members of www.addforums.com have found a place where they can finally feel supported and gain more of an understanding about these and other disorders.

With the assistance of an international team of volunteers, the ADD Forums has grown into a thriving online Support Community with more than 10,000 registered participants, and tens of thousands of visitors. The members and staff of ADD Forums represent such diverse geographic locations as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Japan, United Kingdom and the United States.

ADD Forums includes support areas for:

* Adults with ADHD
* Spouses and Partners of Adults with ADHD
* Parents of Children with ADHD
* Teens with ADHD
* ADD Treatment and Management
* Co-existing conditions, such as Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, and Learning Disabilities.

Discussions at ADD Forums Include:

This board is helping the cause to wake up the world to the realities of AD/HD in a huge way.
I still run into a lot of people that don't "believe" in AD/HD, but at this rate you'll convert them all. :D
Thank you!
(In particular...could you please work on my father? He says AD/HD is B.S.) ;):p

That is fantastic! You guys are doing a great job here.ADDF does not have "subscribers", we have members who are not charged a fee for the support they receive here.

WOOT!

Who was #10,000? Do they get a prize?

Fuse

The 10,000th member lasted visited the day they registered (2 years ago), so I suggest they don't get a prize. ;)

Anyway, we're past 20,000 members now... and funnily enough the 20,000 member also hasn't visited since they registered on the 9th of November, 07.

It happens. Such is the case with some adders...they lurk for a while, join...and may not return. Also, we've had a rash of members from AOL and some other e-mail addresses that don't check their spam folders for our confirmation letter. So, they join, but can't post.
