Hey All,
I've been on edronax (reboxetine) for a few months now. It's an anti-depressant which has recently shown some success with adhd. I (and my wife) don't feel it's working for me and we're going back to my psychiatrist to see if I can look at something else.
When I first saw him he suggested reboxetine as it would also help my depression, which I think it has been successful at. He explained that there were 2 non-stimulants showing some success with a percentage of patients, reboxetine being one and the other sounded kind of similar to me but I couldn't remember it's name.
Today I was talking to a psychologist who mentioned the name strattera and that it was atomoxetine. That name rang a bell as the one my psychiatrist mentioned. He said they both work on the same part of the brain (or neurotransmitters or whatever he was telling me while I enjoyed the view from his window) but that while atomoxetine was very expensive for a months dosage (over $100AU) the reboxetine was much cheaper (about $36AU a month). Hence I am on reboxetine.
Is strattera expensive in the US, as there seems to be a lot of people who have used it.
Also, the dosages seem quite different too. I'm taking 8mg a day of edronax, while many seem to be taking up to 60+mg of strattera. In fact, most of the stuff I've read says that the max dose of endronax is only about 10mg a day.
Anyway, found out something I didn't know and wanted to ramble a bit and ask the question.
