As a child i have always been a talker and cut people off when there talking as i'm older now i still talk to much and cut people off when there talking and i say mean things to people without thinking before i say it. I can't concentrate when i reading if i hear something or see someone talking i forget what i was reading i get real aggetated when i'm trying to read and someone is talking because i forget what i'm reading. I start new things like buying puzzles, books ,playstation games touch it the first day and never pick it up again i lose interest. I can't keep a job the first day i start i'm excited then after that i don't like it walk out on the job because it ain't what i thought it was made out to be. So basicly don't hold a job no more than 1 week to 1 month. i dont think i'm hyper only with my mouth now i do fidget, bite my nails split the ends on my hair pick at my face but i sleep alot. I have racing thoughts threw the day and at night that keep me from going to sleep. I do have ocd and depression but i think something else is going on.And my kids are a bad case of adhd but supposly my husband had it as a child. Teachers did say when i was in elementary i was always looking off than doing my work and as i got into middle school i had a hard time concentrating on my work i cutted school and then dropped out in 7th grade. So if anyone might think this is some signs of adhd i would appreciate it.

I think (and I may be wrong) that ALL ADD is classified as ADHD. Then you're simply given a subtype.

I have ADHD but I can tell you that while I'm pretty oppositional sometimes, I've never just gotten up and walked out of a job. Everything you're describing kind of seems like it's ADHD-Inattentive , or what would normally be called ADD. But if you've been diagnosed with OCD and Depression, you should be able to talk to your psych about this.

Does it help being a sub-type? Do you think being a talker is an aspect of ADHd?

I gathered some history on ADHD for a school project last semester. ADD is simply an old name for ADHD. Some people think it is ADHD without the hyperactivity and use it that way but it's not. Then some of us still say ADD because it rolls off the tongue easier.

My daughter has just been staffed into Specific Learning Disabilities for this coming year. She has been in SPED since preschool, under the Significant Developmental Delay label. Just a couple weeks ago she was tested to see if she has Central Auditory Processing problems. Her stepdad (to be) and I deal with oppositional behaviours lately that just don't seem like our Anna. She definately can't sit still or focus for more than a few minutes. Right now, we're not sure what's going on with her...as far as behaviour goes. We get frustrated, but we're exercising a lot of patience with her.

We've found that using the "green, yellow, red" behaviour mods work well with her unless she's in a seriously oppositional mood. Then it's like talking to a brick wall to get through to her. She's such a sweet loving child though, that's what makes all this so frustrating. I guess I'm just looking for a place where I can relate to others. I've worked with special ed kids for almost 12 years...I guess you could say it should have prepared me for my own child, but it's different in some ways when it IS your child. Right now we haven't gotten any clear cut answers from anyone, other than the IEP that she has for SLD and the speech services she receives. Believe me, I ask questions too...I'm just not getting any answers. Sigh....

Thanks for letting me "vent". :)

Morbid Defect of Moral Control Moderator... but it's too long, and just the words Morbid Defect of Moral Control will look a bit weird...even to me :D :D
