im in the UK. Is this all-US?? Im 18 and that makes me leagally and adult in the UK but dont know what age range im looking at. I run a support group in the UK which is never vistited and so i dont care anymore. i really find this stuff hard. i have been diagnosed with ADHD/ODD since i was 12 and since then they just keep giving me more labels. i dont know what age range u guys r but hey whateva. i will go back 2 moderating my college's forums as i have no life whatsoever!! i do hope 2 go to university but this is very hard. and how would i go about unregistering myself from here?? im impulsive and never read the fine print. think this is a US only sorta forum. U gotta admit im not the britest of sparks if i couldnt see this was a .com!! even with a high IQ it seems i cant work out the simplest of things.

P.S. Not taking the p**s or anything but do americans have any idea where WALES is?? Its just every TV program or film i have seen the americans always refer to Britain as England and it is actually a collection of 4 countries: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The UK or Great Britain are the names of Britain. Not England!! lol.

From the looks of it this is a pretty widespread forum, US based maybe, but I don't think i'ts by any means exclusive.

Hell I'm in the same demographic as you, so if you're in the wrong place, so am I

Canada here... these forums are entirely international.

18 is adult here in Canada.

No, many Americans probably don't know the difference between England and Britain, but in all fairness, neither does much of the world outside of the British Isles themselves and those who deal with them on a regular basis...

I believe the forums have a server based in the United States, and are therefore subject to US laws and regulations.

Also, I am an American and I know where Wales is. ;)

The UK group on these forums is pretty strong, Clawless hosts chats for European members at what is regular times for you and ungodly hours of the morning for me, hehe.

We American's are big ;) on States here and personally I always associate/think of Wales, Scotland and Ireland as separate identities separate from England.

Maybe it's the way our history is taught, or because of our ancestors. Seems like our history is rampant with our revolution from 'England' and 'English rule' but no where do I remember reading of our revolution from Irish or Scottsman-rule.
When we describe our 'roots' to each other we'll say Irish or Scottsman or English, not Great Britain-ish, or however it would be proper to describe someone from all four of Great Britain's 4 countries.

When you say Great Britain I do not assume you are including Wales, Ireland and Scotland- may be just ME, but
Wales, Ireland and Scotland seem so distinct in their own history and cultures I never link them. Plus I’m a shipper and each country has it’s own importation rules and regulations; GB & Ireland for example have different dollar value requirements regarding computers.

I can relate to what you are saying though, as an American I don't particularly enjoy the rest of the world calling us all cowboys:) Although I've plenty of cowboy friends and have 'cowboyed' myself.

California vs. Texas vs. New York -- Yankee Ingenuityvs. Southern charm...we are all so very different, yet refer to ourselves as 'Americans' one and all.
Hopefully you will not take offense to my trying to explain away why American movies are not more specific or correct. I truly welcome you to forums and hope you find exactly the support you need here. You CAN make it thru University and we'll support your efforts in any way that we can!

ps 18 is also legal in the States, my just turned-18-in-August daughter is very vocal in reminding me of that!!!
18 is not legal drinking age though in the States, 21 is (cute avatar, by the way)

I'd like to direct your attention to the wonderful search function on the upper right of each page. My favorite is to go to advanced search and click on the show posts button.

Also at the bottom of each page as you scroll past the quick reply field are topics of similar interests that you might be interested in.

Read, research any words, topics, or questions that may interest you, and please POST!

I'd say we're about 70-75% US, 25% international here. Oh, and I know where Wales is, too...

I know the geography of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, lol, I may be wrong here but from what I know "Great Britain" only consists of the main island, Northern Ireland in itslef is a seperate entity associated with Great Britian through the United Kingdom. So therefore:

United Kingdom = Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Great Britain = Scotland, England, Wales
England = Country primarily in control of the UK

Also I've always been taught that we fought the British, and that the nation is the UK, the misconception maybe from the fact that most of the british involved in our history were English?
