Hi,
I'm curious about the cycle of anxiety and how meds interupts that cycle. From what I've been reading and what I've been feeling the main complaint about anxiety is the physical feeling it produces. When I was on the Effexor, I didn't have those feelings.
I'm guessing, (and correct me if I'm wrong) that negative mental thinking sets up a pattern of stressfull thinking. Now the stressfull thinking induces the physical symptoms. I kind of remember reading that( I could be wrong again) that the brain gets used to that pattern and now all thtoughts get processed by the brain as a panic thought. That's why you feel anxiety all the time.
What do the meds do to stop that cycle? Do they stop the process that looks at a thought and decides if it's worthy of anxiety or does is stop the part of the brain that sends out the anxiety signal to the body? If I'mnot expaining this right, let me know and I'll try to rephrase.
thanks,
Al
