Sometimes I only need a small boost to complete my day. Is it ok to take 1/2 a dose of methylphenidate SR?

my doctor had me split my methlyphenidate so I think it would be okay. You should make sure with the doc and the pharmacist. They are hard to split though....I had to use a knife.

I don't think you're supposed to split the sr tabs. It will mess up the time-release mechanism. My doc gave me regular ritalin that I can take after the sr wears off on long days.

I'm pretty sure Outsider is correct -- I've heard as well that you're not supposed to split methylphenidate SR tablets such as Methylin ER, etc.
