Im finally thinking about seeking out some sort of professional help for my ADD. 'What I really want is to try some meds to see how they can help me. I dont know how to go about finding a DR that specialized in ADD in my area(Hartford, CT) Anyhow I know most of you will say ask your physician but I havent been to a DR in like 15 years. Im kind of having anxiety problems over this because Im not really trusting of Doctors and such.

Physicians don't know that much. I know where I live I found good references on the Internet for psychologists which specialize on ADD and ADHD. Maybe you could check out in that field. Psychologist can prescribe meds, but the ones who studied ADD and ADHD can pin point your problem better and help you resolve it better.

Try CHADD, they maintain a list of docs, pdocs and psychologists, but you have to join to get the list.
People have posted the names of docs in the regional sections.
Attend a local CHADD meeting and ask around.
Interview whoever you pick on the phone before you pony up for a visit.
Also, check out diagnosis (http://www.addforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23276):
