Is this a brain/nervous disorder? runinl8 04-05-06, 12:54 PM Lots and lots of people talk to themselves. I know I do. As far as the voices...you really might want to see a professional. Best Wishes. QueensU_girl 04-08-06, 11:58 PM It depends. Are the voices inside your head, or coming from outside your head? Inside your head is likely "self-talk". (A way some ADDers cope with the disorder.) Outside your head would be an auditory hallucination. (Stimulants can trigger this in some people.) Talk to your Doctor for more information. Naomi2 04-20-06, 05:42 AM Do you actually hear the voices, or do you have a 'conversation with your thoughts'. If you actually hear the voices like you would hear someone else, don't panic but make an appoinment to see someone fairly soon. If you have a 'conversation with your thoughts'. Don't worry - many of us on here do that - it can be: 1. normal 2. to do with ADD/ADHD 3. to do with a tic disorder (Tourette's syndrome, chronic motor/vocal tic disorder, transient tic disorder) 4. to do with obsessive compulsive disorder If you are still worried, do go and see someone about it and see what they say. If you have any more to ask here, go right ahead :) |
