Over the past months it's become clear to me that I shouldn't try to hang on to my job although there are many things I like about it. I'm a policy maker. Still I keep feeling inadequate performing basic tasks that come with the job. Now I've set myself the task of finding a job (in these hard days) that will make me happier and will help me bring out my talents instead of my inadequacies.

I'll probably loose my job within the next half year or so due to reorganizations, so thinking about what's next might be wise.

Has anyone had experience with such a move?

I recommend reading the book ADD in the Workplace: Challenges, Choices...., by Kathleen Nadeau.

That book's been very helpful to me on my journey to discover and pursue the job I believe I was placed on this earth to do. I've received a lot of affirmation from reading it in terms of feeling confident that I'm making the right decision. I'm going back to school to earn my MS in psychology, and then eventually a PhD so that I can work with (and get paid for!) adults with ADHD.

I definitely won't be able to last much longer at my current job. I'm not about to get fired or anything, but I sure would like to fire this job and GET OUT ASAP!!

Ahh...elusive patience.... :)

Thanks Smooch! There are so many books on the market that it's hard to choose, but I really need a source of information to help me on this quest. You seem to have made some brave decisions. Congratulations on that! I hope I'll be able to discover my own path.
