Welp.. I am out of Ritalin and don't know when I will be getting any more.. (It better be soon) My "Doctor" seems to be having a problem getting in his new script pad.. It has lasted weeks now I am told and they keep telling me to call and check tomorrow.. In the mean time, I am completely out and I don't like it one bit.
People say that Ritalin isn't addictive.. and it isn't physically for me, but I can tell you I am missing it..
Back to the doctor.. I am sure he is going through all the flavors of hell trying to explain to all his patience (big practice) why he can't write them scripts, but is taking $$ for the visits. (I am assuming)
Sort of makes me wonder if he didn't get crossed up with the state somehow.. I don't know how they would just mail a script pad without tracking numbers and all sorts of other precautions.
Bottom line.. Drugstore Cowboy comes to mind.. LOL j/k!
I'm starting to hit the coffee.. I rarely drink it except when I am out.. It helps me focus too.. But, not as well..
Anyone else ever go through any type of "missing" thy meds?

For me, it wasnt so much MY missing my meds, as it was everyone else noticing that I was off my meds. I missed meds when I noticed easy distractability, but never felt an addiction to it.

a few months ago, we went through an insurance change. The new insurance company wanted all three of us re-evaluated before they would cover the cost of our meds. Took us six weeks... four of which we were all off meds. School was calling me everyday... My sons teacher actually drew him down in front of the class to gripe at HIM for not having meds. (She got in BIG trouble for this... because I flew into a rage when he told me. ) Anyway... my reason for replying to this post is that.. WHY on earth do insurance companies think they have the right to cause these problems by causing delays in our meds?? And the doctors... why can't they write a short script for like two weeks of meds to cover you till they get the records??

It's just ridiculous!

David.... I feel for you. Try drinking Mountain Dew.. it has twice the amount of caffiene that coffee does. And.... if you get really desperate.. buy some instant coffee and just eat it. It sounds gross.. and well.. it is.. but it helped me during the six weeks I was off meds.

Too be undiagnosed... then on meds... then suddenly OFF cold turkey... there was a huge change in me... (distractibility, forgetfullness, thought process) I thought my husband was gonna kill me during that six weeks...LOL

okay there is something wrong with your doctor when he won't fill a Rx. WTF!
however, try vitamin B tabs, they ease the stress,
also, give st john's wort a try,
i'm sure everyone and their dog has better suggestions, but that's what i've used.

my goodness,
how many tabs are you give per month?
my Rx is 90 tabs, 20 mg slow release (you only need to take 2, 3 max a day) and that should last oyu a month,
if your dr isn't doing what s/he's supposed to,
honey it's time to find a new doctor!

take care,
let me know,
