Yeah me too! I've wondered that myself....
Have I been bad?
Or, rather, have I been caught being bad?

Not to worry -- you will know when you have an official warning. You will get a personal notice to the effect. If there's no notice, you're in good shape.:)

What if I got a warning a long time ago and I don't remember? Could you check for me Scattered?

WOAH! Chameleon! You've been quite the trouble maker! How'd you get them to let you back on here?

just kidding :P

That is yet another administrator duty. Please pm Kim or Andrew, but if you got a warning/reminder it would be very official looking. You can contact the moderator who issued it to you.

hehehe Eyeforgot :D

Well, if it was official looking, I think I'd remember it, so I must not have been caught yet :p

Hiding my monstrous personality behind a facade of polite behavior is working quite well. :D

OK, I am WARNING both of you!

Chameleon....go finish PACKING and William....umm...sheeze, I can't think of anything to warn you about:p

It sounds scary, official warnings...I would remember....:faint:

LOL Y'all are hilarious.

Actually, warnings are more a reminder to follow forum guidelines. Some are minor infractions, so we can see if we've already talked to you about this issue before, and some can get you banned. (cussing someone out, posting porn or links to it, etc)

I have noticed a "banned" poster...obviously not still posting though! LOL...

If a poster is banned, is there a section where the moderators let us know..or are they cut off and banned with no explanation to the others???...(I have foot-in-mouth disease, and would hate to have that happen to me....)

Would the title be "OFFICAL WARNING # 1
and would it be from an admin. ?

And does cussing someone out in a PM Qualify for "BANNING" ? or "OFFICAL WARNING" ?

And do the mods have the ability to check other peoples pms?

chameleon
04-11-06, 01:05 AM
And if I just sorta hit someone upside the head but not real hard, does that still count as assault? :p

...I know - I'm so helpful :D

I guess we would have the ability to report a PM we didn't like that had been sent to us...
I wouldn't like to be *cussed out* in a PM!
If we report a post, do the mods reply to us, to say they received the report, and what did they feel the need to do with it?? Or do we hope they got the reported post, and have checked the post for us?

No, we don't let you know about it other than "banned" is under their username. The only explanation goes to the member in question.

Would the title be "OFFICAL WARNING # 1

The official warning will be obvious: "You have been warned". It can be from a moderator, super-moderator or an administrator.

Each situation brought to our attention is evaluated by the moderators and administrators, consequences are based on forum guidelines.

And do the mods have the ability to check other peoples pms?
Private messages are private. Forward any problem pms to a moderator, super moderator or administrator.

It depends on the problem. If you hit the warning button in a post because someone posted their personal phone number then the moderator of that section will most likely simply edit it, no further discussion necessary.

We look at every reported post. We try to reply to every reported post especially if it is a bigger problem than a simple edit would fix.

Please also be aware that you can put another member on "Ignore". Simply go to their user profile and click on that option on the blue line below their avatar. You will no longer see their posts. That can help diffuse many situations.

Also, there is an article and links in the Adult ADD section on dealing with online arguments.

. excellent..there was someone last week that seemed intent on causing trouble...and I managed (as did most of us) to ignore them, and carry on like there was no post there that was offencive or argumentive

Hmmm, I wonder if this topic of WARNINGS is so popular because so many of us ADDers are used to getting in trouble without ever seeing it coming!:p

Like, "Waddit I do this time?"

I am CONSTANTLY getting in trouble for things I never understand!
So if someone says, "We got this here rule..."
I jump in with, "Please explain it IN DEPTH, using all possible scenarios. Flow charts would be helpful. Do you have an educational clip I could watch? Perhaps we could act it out? Hand puppets? A little mime action?....Okay, this cookie is me and this other one is you. What would my cookie have to do to make your cookie mad?"

:DI so relate to this. I had a psyc professor who thought I was OCD because I always double and triple checked everything. It was because I'm always missing stuff and getting into trouble!

my dear..........you are always getting "caught" doing something!!You know Rach, you are so right!
I can't get away with anything! :o
If 135,439 people were all sampling grapes in a store, and I walked up and snuck one, the SWAT team would crash through the ceiling, throw me on the ground, hog tie me, and haul me off to prison for 15 - 30 years.

That's me! I'm in theater, you'd think I could act, but I'm a terrible liar. And even if I didn't technically do anything wrong, just the thought that I did leaves me feeling incredibly guilty...deserving of whatever punishment handed to me and praying for mercy.

chameleon
04-11-06, 07:22 PM
LOL!
Chel, we are so alike!
Someone will ask me if I did something, for instance - hypothetically - "Did you sleep with the milkman?" and in a nanosecond all these thoughts run through my head;

"Did I WHAT? Oh god! They think I slept with the milkman!
How can I deny it in a way they will believe me!
My voice always goes so high and makes me sound guilty!
I can feel my face turning bright red right now! Now that I've noticed, it's getting even hotter!
They're staring at me!!! They think I'm guilty! There's no way I can convince them I'm innocent now!
I've waited too long to answer!
My face is bright red and I'm standing here with bulging eyes!!
My mouth is open but nothing has come out!!
I'm dripping sweat and my heart is pounding!"

and to top off that nanosecond of panic, I squeek out a high pitched, shaky, "n-n-no!".

I look guilty as sin.

I could never pass a lie detector test, I'd be so freaked out that it would find me guilty, even if I answered yes to, "Do you have skin?"

hehehe :p Chameleon, you are hilariou!!!!

I feel the same way too! I always assume someone is talking about me when they say something bad! I also worry that someone who is joking around with me is telling the truth and they don't like me or are mad!! :(

My husband is able to gaslight me all the time.
For instance, he might say, "You did TO agree to let me have another wife!"
I will declare that I think I would have remembered THAT.
Yet he'll continue with, "Remember? Last Tuesday I brought it up and you agreed!".
I try to think of last Tuesday.
I get nothing.
Was I even born yet last Tuesday?
He can see my resolve wavering, doubt clouding my thoughts.
He continues, "Yeah! And you said you'd LIKE it 'cause she could help you do the ironing! Remember?"
Wow, I think to myself, he remembers an entire conversation. It SOUNDS like a conversation. Maybe I DID forget....
He adds, "Jeez! You're so forgetful!"
Yup. That must be it.
I guess I did agree to it.
"Sorry for doubting you honey," I apologize.
