I've had a bad habit for months where all I have for breakfast is a can of Coca-Cola. It helps keep me moving in the morning! But now that I've started taking my Ritalin (10 mg 3x/day) in the morning, with the Coke, I feel like I'm bouncing off the walls -- my focus is even more shot than normal! I feel like my brain is just going zing, zing, zing, and I can't concentrate enough to do anything.

I know the obvious solution is to stop drinking the Coke, and I'm going to do that, but I was wondering if anyone had any experiences like this. I would think that having all these stimulants in my system would focus me -- but it's just the opposite!! Any thoughts?

I think it's too much stimulants. If your Ritalin dosage is correct, then you are probably like a person without ADHD drinking the caffeine, and you know what is said about what caffeine does to people! ;)

I have never done well with caffeine, always made me feel sluggish and worse than before, but felt even worse with Ritalin in my system.

I also find that foods affect me differently. Like I can't eat as much sugary food as before, it makes me feel horrible! Do you find that too?

I'm on Ritalin 20mg 3x per day.

Caffeine seems to ruin the effects of ADHD-indicated stimulants on me. Now, I only drink caffeine if I have a very hard time sleeping... helps calm my mind after the meds wear off. Go figure.
