My doctor and I were going to go with Dexe IR 5 mg. tabs.....I filled the perscription.....and realized that I didn't like the immediate release like I did the Adderall XR I had been previously taking. But I need to know if I can take an Adderall XR in the morning AND a Dexe IR 5 mg. tablet together so it doesn't take me an hour before the Adderall hits me and I can get out of bed. Is it okay to mix the two?

ask your doctor but it should be ok. why did you stop the adderall?

They are just a marketing ploy by Shire pharm, to sell a crappy version of an old diet pill from the 1970's

Dextroamphetamine IS FAR SUPERIOR being 100% CNS acting med, with less somatic effects+greater mental effects-one of the original meds from the 50's which is still around:

Perhaps thoes 5-15mg Spansules+ maybe some IR tabs would be superior?

actually, there's a good reason for the peripherally acting levoamphetamine in adderall, which is the only difference between adderall and dexedrine. for many people with add, cns stimulants like dextroamphetamine are rather sedating. were it not for the mild peripheral stimulation, it would knock me out. hell, even with the peripheral stimulation, adderall still puts me to sleep at night.
