Well last month I decided to try another brand of generic adderall. I've been taking Barr Labs' generic for the last 4 years, This time I tried Mallinckrodt's generic, from Rite-Aid, and WOW was there a difference! The Mallinckrodt's didn't seem to be nearly as strong or as effective as Barr's.
Usually when I'm on adderall, "A", I'm very quiet and not talkative at all (that's if there's class work or something that I'm doing, but now I can talk someone's ear off if we're having a deep conversation) and I usually can't even find humor in or laugh at anything, I get very serious and focused.
But when I was taking the Mallinckrodt I would still be able to laugh and joke with my roommate and even strike up conversations with people, just like when I don't take my A, I was also not be able to focus as good on my schoolwork. I always felt like I hadn't taken enough, I seriously could hardly even feel 20mg (I take 70mg/day, 20mg 3x a day plus an extra 10 in the AM)
So has anyone else compared Barr & Mallinckrodt's generics? Did you notice the same thing that I did?
Also, right now I'm testing Eon's generic. Can anyone tell me their experience with their's? I'll let you know how it turns out for me in a couple weeks.

i now take the xr, which is obviously brand name, but i used to take the ir tabs, and ws dispensd eon, mall, and brand at different times. i saw no discernable difference between eon and brand name. mall's were a bit odd, i think that part of it was that the pills didn't seem bound together real well. they would sometimes dissolve in my mouth as i was swallowing them, and when i was taking 15mg in the morning and 10 in the evening, where i had to break a 10mg tb in half each morning, i found that they tended to crumble sometimes when i tried to break them. this lead me to think that part of the difference was that mall's tabs were simply dissolving and absorbing too rapidly. eon's tabs were physically identical to shire's brand-name tabs, except for the letter stamped on the top, and they felt the same too. i'm sure that people who wanted to get high would have preferred the ones that broke apart and dissolved faster, but i found that this created a rapid spike followed by a sharp drop-off and didn't last very long, along with increased side effects and peripheral stimulation...in other words, the exact opposite of what i need these meds to do in order to function.

I have a prescription for Barr 20mg orange pills and Barr 10mg blue pills. I am pretty sure that one blue 10mg pill is stronger than one 20mg orange pill which makes no sense at all. I am starting to get the impression that the 20mg pills do a whole lot of nothing - I just never realized it because my prescription is for 25mg twice a day, so I'm supposed to take the 20mg and half of a 10mg. This makes me feel the effects of the blue pill so I had no idea about the weakness of the orange 20mg pills. Last night I consumed only one orange 20mg pill and it didn't really do much...took another 20mg pill 2 hours later and still no noticeable improvement or difference.

If it is the white octogon shaped one that rite aid swithed to I did try it and was pretty ****ed.
I was nothing like the orange stuff.
When I tryed to flush it they all stuck to the side of the bowl. And wouldnt come off. Then disolved.
You had to been there :D
