I am a special education teacher. Two of my students, both with more severe ADHD, often come to school without having taken their medication. Or worse, they have taken their sibling's medication instead.
The problem seems to stem from home, with the parents not refilling the prescriptions. It can be a variety of reasons: no money, no time, forgot, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I understand what these kids are going through, as I have ADD myself. I am not the teacher who just wants to "drug the kids", but I know this inconsistent pattern cannot be good for them.
