One thing I noticed about Adderall is that, instead of me jumping from one thing to another and getting all jumbled and confused; it helps me slow down and do one thing at a time. For instance, today I had psychology class (which, btw, is quite interesting on adderall) and I atually understood what he was talking about instead of thinking of the time, and moving around my seat endlessly. Then, at home I had to run a few errands (get mail, deposit money, all that fun stuff). Anyway, I had gotten specific instructions from my mother about money for my cell, and instead of getting irritated for her explaining it too fast or not explaining it to a full length, I had absolutely no problems.
I originally started out on 10 IR, during my junior year of high school, and I went from 70's to 90's. But, I started to not like the side effect of the crashing, and it brought down my attendence in school, because I couldn't sleep. So, I went off of it for about 6 months during my senior year, just to try to gain some confidence on my own without Adderall, which I did. But I still struggled with math classes.
Now, during my first year college I was put back on it with 20 xr, recently upped to 25 (the 20 was wearing off to quickly for some reason, and i would crash all afternoon, and pace and try to figure out what to do with myself). the 25 XR has worked really well so far. and I start to crash around 7 or 8, at which point I eat dinner so I don't get that "empty paranoid" feeling.
Last night on the local news, a story came on about adderall about how it is no being labeled an "academic steriod". Now the one girl they interviewed did NOT have any form of ADD, and was just "using to perform better on tests". Yeah, Adderall does all this stuff, but it was intended for people with ADD, soooo who knows. I'm an extremely liberal person, however, I don't believe in handing out medication where there isn't a disorder/disease or whatever. But, esp. here in upstate new york its becoming more popular at universities.
Oh well, the world is far from perfect.
Anyway, I'd thought I would share my experience.
