That is actually one of my big fears. I'm scared I'll lose it or my purse will get stolen, and then the doctor will think I've been snorting it off a pocket mirror. I keep the big bottles at home, and bring little prescription bottles with me.

So: how long have you been on it? How long has your doctor been treating you? Do you have a personal or family history of addiction that he is concerned about? Have you been upping your dose or asking to up your dose recently?

Depending on the answer to these questions, I'd think it would be totally plausible that you'd lost it. The fact that you JUST got it filled actually makes this less suspicious; if you were addicted, it seems like you would be trying to get more when you were running low, not the day after you got a new bottle. I would call your doctor immediately and explain what happened. He may do something like prescribe a week's worth to see if the original prescription turns up.
