as part of my interest in 'undefined' spirituality, i have recently been reading books about energy and chakra balancing. the main point is that with a balance of energy and balance throughout the seven chakras, all aspects of life come together in awareness...

my problem lies in the idea that balance gets knocked out of whack from unhealthy foods, mental preoccupations, and all types of chemicals we take in, among other things.
is it even possible to achieve the state of balance in terms of chakras if i am on medication? i feel the ideas contradict each other, but my medication has been a tremendous help in my life, and in fact helped motivate me to even care about searching spirituality.

are these meds blocking me from pure meditation, chakra balance, and positive healthy energy? does anyone else know how to coincide A.D.D. and the deeper spiritual essence of self?

Interesting question. I can pm you a site I go to frequently that has info on this if you like, (it's a differnt forum). From an aquaintance I know there he'd probably tell you that medication does put you out of balance, but that meditation, stone work, whatever is used to balance your chakras will work and may even lessen your need for medication.

While I am no expert, I have found that my meds are a blessing to me and that I'm also comforted by spiritual things, so that combined I feel whole. I feel like I am where I am supposed to be at this time in my life.

i would love to check out that reference!!

i too feel that with my meds i am living to my potential more than i was before. but at the same time i need to look further into specific aspects about A.D.D. and spirituality i guess. i do not feel that my medicine is keeping me from balance, but one of the major general causes of an imbalance is chemicals of all types. i want to feel that my balance is genuine, and i guess i will feel that, when i get used to 'living' the balance, not just analyzing it with conscious thought. thank you for your suggestions!
