I had some blood test recently and it show that I had mild anemia. I red that adderall can help people who had anemia but I'm unsure? Now I'm scare that since I had mild anemia my doctor won't increase my dose of adderall or worst may take me off adderall. I know I'm stupid to worry about that since I red that adderall may help people with anemia but I can't help being tense and maybe I'm wrong and adderall doesn't help anemia. Anyone here have anemia and are on adderall?

i'm sure that adderall, or any amphetamine for that matter, could help with the lethergy involved with anemia. as far as helping with your blood's red blood cell/hemoglobin count, i doubt it'd have any effect. he'll probably suggest iron and b12 supplements. if it's just a case of mineral/vitamin deficiency it should clear up relatively quickly; therefore, he'll most likely not prescribe more adderall just for the tiredness. if he were to do that and it was something more than just a mineral deficiency, it would be more difficult to detect because the amphetamines would be obscuring any view of worsening symptoms that might lead you back to his office.

I don't know anything about Adderall's impact on it, but I expect Plainly Ordinary is right that iron and B vitamin supplements might be helpful. That's what my doctor prescribed for me. The B vitamins also are very good for you mind and who know it might even improve your ADD symptoms. Ask you doctor!:)

Thank you both for your reply, I appreciate it. My doctor didn't gave me a med for my anemia but gave me something to gain weight, it's call IC Cyproheptadine, I have to take 1 tablet 4mg daily at bedtime. She told me that they give that med for people who suffer from anorexia nevrosa, it also help to sleep and migraine but so far I didn't see any result yet. I don't understand why she gave me that medication since I gain at lest 6 pounds since the last time I saw her but she still concern about my weight and she won't be happy until I reach 100lbs, so I only need to gain 4 pounds and I will be up to 100lbs.

She finally increase my dose of adderall XR, so now I'm on 25mg and it work. For me 20mg didn't really help much but since I'm on 25mg now it's work more, it's odd that only 5mg can make such a difference. I don't want to jinks it by saying that now 25mg work, I'm afraid if I do so it would stop working.lol I know it's silly for me to think that but we never know?lol:)

I'm also taking Modalert 200mg twice a day but so far no result. Any of you take Modalert? If so can you share your experience with it? I red that it's suppose to take 2 to 4 days for the med to start working, I thought it was suppose to work right aways or at lest an hour after taking it, just like adderall. It's been 5 days now since I start Modalert and it still doesn't work yet. Anyways hopefully some of you can give me more info about all this? Thanks and take care!
