View Full Version : Which Med is for me??? DMI200 11-01-03, 05:34 AM I am 12 years old with ADHD, I have been on Adderal,Strattera, and Concerta. I feel like none of these meds are working for me. See if you can go to a child psychiatrist - they know a lot more about medications that paediatricians. DMI200 11-01-03, 01:00 PM I have gone to a psychaitrist and he has perscribed me the Strattera and Concerta. he says that the medicine might not be helping me because of depression. If this is true he is going to put me on Zoloft as well as ADHD medicine Wheel1975 11-01-03, 02:45 PM It is a trial by error process. Look for more subtle changes than you might be expecting. Be completely forthcoming with your Doctor. the one thing you do not want to do is start trying things on your own. Unmedicated people with ADHD have higher risk for addition. That is when it is no longer fun to be doing what every recreational drug one has picked. it is not the fun part. So avoid addicition by talking with your doctor and working with him/her to find drugs, therapies, or combinations that address your needs. Don't expect any pill to "fix" everything. For a very few that seems to happen. for the rest, it becomes a issue of becomeing aware that some things are slightly more possible with certain medications. Then making the most of the opportunities is where living one's life comes in. David DMI200 11-01-03, 03:10 PM Thanks, I will remember this advice next time I go to the doctors |
