My girlfriend has ADHD and takes a heavy dosage of adderall daily. Due to some chest pains related to her heart condition. I read up on fish oil and vitamin E that might help her heart, but I wasn't sure if these would interfere with the adderall. Does anyone know or is this more of a question for her doctor? Thanks!

Does her doc know she is having chest pains? If not, a trip to the urgent care or ER is in order asap. Adderall is a stim that increases vascular pressure; increased blood pressure and heart rate. It is my opinion that fish oil will not help with chest pains. High doses of the omegas can thin the blood though.

The omega 3's are very studied right now, and I have come across some conflicting studies if it is really effective for treating the heart. But taking them will not interefere with the Adderall. There are many of us who take high EPA fish oils (7:1 ratio) for our ADHD that have been helped enough to be able to reduce or go off of the meds. It can take up to 3 months of taking it to see the full effect as it builds up in the system. Many studies have been done to prove this effect on the brain.
