View Full Version : Aizlyne, you are in the HOT SEAT!! JimiS 06-02-06, 03:12 PM We have 48 hours to bombard you with questions.. Then you get to pick someone else.. Enjoy! I'll start.. What was your favorite subject in school? sehrita 06-02-06, 03:16 PM Do you have any pets? Crazy~Feet 06-02-06, 03:34 PM What is your opinion of plastic "sporks" at fast food restaurants? :D Aizlyne 06-02-06, 04:31 PM hurray! lol. okay um.... History was (and still is) my favorite subject I had a gerbil, and a dog ( both ahve passed away) My roomte has cats but I don't consider them mine (as cats are the physical manifestation of pure evil, as everyone knows lol) Spork sounds like a dirty word so saying it always makes me laugh a little inside. Sporks make fine spoons but not very good forks. Therefore i consider them to be forks with an inferiority complex. Bring it on! Crazy~Feet 06-02-06, 05:16 PM Ok how fast do you think you can duck? LOL I am coming after you for that cat comment sister ;). What mythological creature/person would you like to be and why? Aizlyne 06-02-06, 05:24 PM lol. One day all you cat people will get a rude awakening! lol hmmm, tough question, Crazy..... I think If I had to pick a creature it would have to be a dragon. I've always loved dragons for their beauty and power...as well as their intellegence. As for person or figure...hmmm....Shahrazad, from the Arabian nights, or Rosalind from As You Like It...I know they're technically literary figures but I don't think there's any mythic....WAIT! I would be the goddess Artimus, the goddess of nature and wild animals. lol DimensionX 06-02-06, 06:33 PM i noticed u changed ur avatar, why the change, what does the avatar mean for u (ur an artist, i'm sure u can come up with something elabourate) ;) i'ld have to say my favourite pic that i've seen from u is this: http://tn3-2.deviantart.com/fs10/300W/i/2006/133/6/8/The_Woodcutter_and_the_Mermaid_by_Aizlyne.jpg (please note that the artwork displayed here cannot be hosted else where or used in any other way without the artists consent, the artist being azyline). how long did this piece take to create and what does it mean to u?, if u could alter something from it what would it be? what is ur favourite piece of artwork that u've created? is there anything else apart from history and art that u have a keen interest in? what is ur personal opinion of digital artwork? do u like it or not and why? under what conditions do u usually do work? u believe that cats are the incarnation of evil, in what ways do u prefer dogs over cats? (i'm assuming that ur more of a dog person than cat person) are they're any decent movies that you would recommend (could u please list a couple of classics and a couple of mordern ones)? whats ur favourite element and why? what do u prefer oil or water paint? (this question is concerning ur preference for composing artwork as well as which type of painting u usually prefer to see) chloe516 06-02-06, 06:48 PM You mentioned applying for a semester abroad in Ireland. Why Ireland? What kind of music do you listen to? Why? If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Why? Would you rather eat live cockroaches or live fireflies? Crazy~Feet 06-02-06, 06:51 PM Would you rather be an intelligent predatory animal (IE big cat) or an instinctual predator (large contricting snake)? mejasha 06-02-06, 08:30 PM Aizlyne, I read your journal. I felt weird like I was reading your diary. It was so nice of you to open yourself up like that. You are real and that is a beautiful thing. I used to be very shy and standoffish too. The only way I got over it was practice, practice, practice. I think that you should ask someone who has been out of college for a few years if they actually see these people after college. We were just talking about the fact that we never see the people we went to highschool with any more. Maybe you could use your college days as an experiment to get to know yourself and how to associate with others. Don't take it so serious. It is probably not likely that you will stay friends with that many people after college. If you do make some lifelong friends, do it by being yourself. LOL Thanks for reading and God bless you. Aizlyne 06-03-06, 02:54 AM wow.... okay, Lee: I picked the new avatar because I got bored of the other one, as pretty as it is. I've also be assualted by a number of people who seem to think cat's are the best thing since evolution started, so felt the need to re- assure my fondness for wolves and dogs. lol. so perhaps less artistis then you hoped for. :p That particular piece i like because I'm a person for storytelling and fairy tales. I love narrative. i love bright saturated colors. I think it took me...about 10 to 15 hours to complete in all. i thik I would change compition so that it was more horizontal. The picture might fit better that way. I would also do more figure studies (I'm not used to drawing heavier figures) PS. I'm glad you like it! My favorite piece of artwork that I"m created this year is a watercolor painting of a teddybear and a spider. ( I don't know if you've seen it) The concept came to me at once...which it rare. And I instantly became fascinated with how it would come out. (My teachers would say otherwise but we all know what I think about that lol) I love philosophy. although I"ve not been reading up on it much recently. I do like Ralph Waldo Emerson's work. I like psychology too. I like trying to understand hown people tic (As I"m sure you've descovered on numerous occasions, much to your annoyance I"m sure lol) I like fearie tales and myth, and local history and how that reflects what a culture or a person believes. I love to read....a lot..whenever I have a spare moment. I love trying too trace my family tree, so find out as much as i can about where I come from....there's a lot...But I"m so tired right now I can't think of it all. Digital artwork....I think it has to be done the right way. i think using fiilters too much is kind of a cop out. If i can look at a digital peice and tell you what tool was used it didn't work. I dont really have a lot of room to criticise sine I"m jsut learning it myself but i"ve seen a lot of good digital work that doesn't get the respect it deserves because people think it's cheating or easier then regular work. Well, the good stuff isn't easear at all. so yes, I respect good digital work, just like work done in any traditional medium. However...I do appreciate traditional animation and film more then CG. I just think CG looks fake to me unless it's combined with real objects (think jurassic park....puppets and cg) CG objects just odn't look grounded enough in a real setting. Idealy I'd have a studio with a lot of space to mess with and spread out in. But I usually work on the floor of my apartment or sitting in a chair with a sketchbook in my lap. lol really, Lee? You think so? I like dogs mroe then cats for a lot of reasons but let me start out with a confession. I don't hate cats as much as i say. I just prefer them the least among all possible pets. I"'ve had several cats growing up, some nice, some mean as hell. My roomates cats are fun to harrass because they trust people so much so you can toss them about a little (I mean this in a non abusive way of course. I would never hurt anything. ) I had a dog named Barkley who lived to be 14 years old before he passed away and so he was a large part of my childhood and adolescence. My cats seems to come and go pretty fast. I just like the loyalty and friendly parts of a dogs personality. In the end if I"m drowning, and my cat and dog are sitting on the riverside, I"m pretty sure my cat isn't going to leap into "lassie" mode and run for help, or jump in to get me out. lol. But that's besides the point.Dogs seem to have more courage then cats. but with a name like Mavarick, I'm sure your cat would save infants from a burning building ( he is the legend of the west afterall). Classic and modern movies.... Let me put a warning out though before I make a list.... I.....AM.....A......DORK Classic first,(defined as, movies from my childhood or before 1990) elephant man Labyrinth Dark Crystal On the waterfront, Three faces of Eve Dead Poet's society Aladdin Beauty and the Beast Last unicorn Annie The Adventures of milo and otis The princess Bride Now more modern: Keeping the Faith Seven Meet Joe Black K-Pax Lord of the rings trilogy Dragonheart A Knight's Tale Patch Adams Bicentennial Man Magdaline sisters Jurassic Park (only the first one!lol) Princess Monanoke there's a lot more, but I can't think of them all! element? are we talking scientific or arcane? I guess scientific would be too inolved... lets see of my choices, Fire, wind, Water, Earth, spirit? Earth. That element makes me think of the color green...or maybe it is the other way around. At the risk of sounding like a dirty hippie, Earth is home. This is where all the greatest stuff human stuff happens. Earth makes me think of life and death. I prefer waterbased paint. I havn't had much expierience with oil. But waterbased seems to be easier to work with. I love paintings done in washes (ink or watercolor) Just has a very light and fluid look. lIt looks like it's vibrating or it has more life. Aizlyne 06-03-06, 03:06 AM Now, "Liz" I've wanted to go to ireland for a long time. a lot of my family ancestry can be traced back to ireland. I've been learning about it for a while and going there is kind of like another step in me trying to descover more about where I came from. My music collection is mixed. but I can safely say that I could leave my collection out in full view of everyone and it would never be stolen. lol. some of the things I listen to, Movie sound tracks (particularly musical scores...no words) Irish bands (Lunasa, Dervish...also instrumental for the most part) Nickleback Goo Goo Dolls the Calling Lifehouse Josh Groban Maria Mena That's what I can think of... i listen to the instrumental music because it helps me focus on work. It helps me get my mind to quiet down. I also make up stories in my head to match the rise and fall of the music. The bands i like sound very similar to each other, so I like them mostly for the lyrics because I think they are very good at expresssing emotions and stories all at once. Josh Groban has a beautiful voice. He's somewhere between voice and instrumental. I can listen to his music and not be distracted by the words. I want to say ireland, but I can't because I"ve never lived there so how can I know what it would be like. I don't know......hm. I don't really think I"ve found the place where I can just sit still. That might be the ADD or it might be me. but I think I"m still searching for the place I would like to live. live fireflys for sure. cockroaches are inside with us..who knows what kind of diseases they carry lol. I've seeen fireflyes..they don't look that bad. I'd havet o eat a lot in order to be satisfied lol Aizlyne 06-03-06, 03:07 AM Intellegent always. there's is somthng to be said for acting on instinct. but I"d rather calculate first rather then later.lol Aizlyne 06-03-06, 03:09 AM Thank you Mejasha for your post. I appreciate what you've said. It's comforting that you can understand. Aizlyne 06-03-06, 01:58 PM Come on people! I'm an open book! Crazy~Feet 06-03-06, 02:07 PM Artwork..my child ADDer is exploding with creativeity and very artistic. What advice can you give me as a parent to encourage her (my mother killed my artistic creativity)? Ireland..I have Celtic blood myself! Have you read any Celtic mythology yourself? If yes, what interests you about it and why? Trip to Ireland..think you could stand it if I tagged along? :p BE HONEST! 3 Faces of Eve...what about it did you like? Why that movie? Aizlyne 06-03-06, 02:42 PM Well, Crazy. Having a little brother who's very creative he likes to ask me for help on his projects when he can't get them to work. I's say, if you can, talk to yuor child about what their making and be excited for them when they make somthing. give them materials slowly though, and tell them to try to figure out how to make things with just a few limited resourses. This will help them with problem solving. My littel brother makes amazing things with Ducttape cardboad and straws (straws are fun!) Also spend time making things with her. Even if its for a few minutes, make a flower or draw a flower and ask her to color it for you so she feels like you are involved with her, not jsut the activity...hope that helps. Unfortunatly I havn't read into much detail on Celtic mythology. I 've tried several times but I've only come away with a few names. I guess school just pumps so much of the Greek mythology int our heads that it does'nt leave room for much else. I do find the Morigan to be a fascinating celtic figure. I could stand you as long as the drinks are on you lol I saw that movie in psychology class and I really liked the characters. I was disapointed at the end because I think because of the time it was made in they had to soften or cover up lot of the women's past so you don't really understand what happened to her. I think the coping mechanism the women developed over time was really interesting and I also felt emotionally involved with the characters. Aizlyne 06-05-06, 12:57 AM you guys arn't trying hard enough! lol |
