I swear I have one, and I would greatly benefit from her being on doggie Adderall! Or is it just the family atmosphere? What??? Maybe she didn't crawl well enough in infancy? (a pun on my earlier post. LOL, getting way too late)

Does anyone else have an ADHD dog? I'd love to hear about 'em! :)

Both of my cats I think have inattentive ADD!!
They won't come whenever I call, unless I'm offering them some cat treats! LOL :D
So, I placed them both on a daily dose of catnip!
Now I think they have hyperactive ADD! LOL :D

Peace,

i have a cat that I am convinced has ADHD and there is another w/ severe anxiety and the third seriously actually has bipolar... 1 week she's a nice kitty, next week she sleeps and the week after she is a violent nasty cat her name is Happy...

I get a good chuckle over this topic. I have a dog who acts very ADHD!! He is a Jack Russell Terrier and when he is not asleep ( which isn't often), I swear he is never still. I can't hold him or he will squirm like crazy in my arms, trying to break free. He gets so excited so easily too and has an extremely short attention span. He can't pay attention for more than 2 seconds unless he is very interested in something, then he can REALLY focus. If I am eating, he will stare at me the whole time. If he sees a squirrel or cat, he really goes ballistic.

He is not very patient, wants things NOW, is a wiggle worm, will repeat a misbehavior although he knows it is wrong but doesn't think of the consequences before doing it, and he is totally distractable. He is also very intelligent, noisy, strong willed, determined, playful, stubborn, and loving!

I love him for his little quirks, actually he is an awful lot like me. I love his energy and he is so much fun. I wouldn't trade him for the world.

If ADHD exists in dog, he definately has it!!

Yes, I think Cockerspaniels can be -- or at least ours is! No boundaries, doesn't listen well, was difficult to potty train, sweet and affectionate and hyper!!!

In otherwords -- just like my kids!:)

My Lady dog has her ADHD moments.....she "scatters" like some she is trying to go two different directions at once.

This is fun! My little whippet/dally mix is the one. I posted her pic on the new pet's pic post. :-) I cannot even take her for a walk, that's when I "lose" her. She just goes ballistic out there. Or when she sees the wind blow out the front window, I "lose" her, and it's hard to get her attention back. Sometimes, between the kid and the two critters, my total house is hyper! I guess it keeps us going. I love it!

The kid and I have decided both our kittens are loaded with ADD.

Sora is the resident hyperactive. He cracks us up daily with his boundless energy. He is highly social and purrs loudly. He seems to suffer from the Boredom Factor a lot, resorting to chasing his tail and attacking his own feet many times. Sometimes he catches his tail or gets a good grip on his feet and bites down HARD, we say he forgets that is painful. He is always "on".

Roxas is the inattentive of the two. This boy is hard to draw out and not as social, preferring to come on his own terms. He spaces out a lot, sits and stares off into the distance, and startles easily. He purrs softly and seldom vocalises, unless he happens to notice some important thing in his world needs tending, then he is actually quite persistent and loud.

I'm so glad someone has asked this question, my friend has 2 dog's and i have never seen anything like it, you can take both dog's out for a run and run them ragged, only when you get home one dog collapes and the other just keeps on going, he wants to play ball all the time, i said i think your dog could adhd, she laughed but the more i think about, you can more or less tire a dog out , but not this one, this one keeps on going and going and going!!
