Ever since I downloaded the new Firefox update (Ver 1.5.0.4) a couple weeks ago, I've noticed I can't type in replies to threads. I click my pointer in the reply box but the cursor doesn't appear like it used to.

If I try the "Go Advanced" reply option, the same thing happens. If I try to select a font to type with, I get a dialog box saying: "Fontname: This command is not valid or implemented."

The only section I can type in is in the "Title" box.

I checked my user profile settings and it looks fine.

Any ideas?

I'm using Internet Explorer to type this post, but I'd much rather be using Firefox. :D

It worked with that and the "advanced reply" option too. I can even select my font type again - but only if I type something in first.

Weird. I wonder what the snafu is?

Don't know. I'm using the most up to date version, and I'm not having any problems. I suggest you check http://www.mozilla.com/support/ for more assistance.

I think the editor style that you use is the key difference here. If you go to User CP -> Edit Options, at the very bottom, there's an option to set what kind of post editor is being used. I only noticed the problem using the Enhanced editor. Try choosing the Standard or Basic.

It does work for me, though, just typing, though, so no worries.

Yup, that did the trick.

I rarely use firefox except when IE is eating up all my memory, but for reseach I use opera since firefox will keep taking memory and NEVER give it up, you can open 20 tabs, watch its memory go mad with usage, and then close 19 and memory will stay there. For that reason if I'm opening a ton of tabs, I use opera, it also saves everything, backwards and forwards, every tab and site so that you are protected against crashes.
User extensability is nice, but having your memory being used reasonably is so much nicer, and this from a guy with 1gb of ram (I open many many windows at one time)!
