Well finally have my appointment at the county mental health clinic tomorrow. When I made the appointment, the guy said I was going to see a psychiatrist. I was surprised that you would see one when you are doing your first visit (intake). I hope he's not one of those who think people should just listen to their doctors for a diagnosis and be bothered that I'm proactive about possibly having add. If he is, I'll find someone else there that will take me seriously. I've only been researching ADD for myself for a few weeks, but it seems like forever. I just want to have someone else say that I'm not crazy too, that there's something else here besides someone who's lazy and skatterbrained.

Good luck to you -- I hope you have someone who really listens to you! If not, keep looking -- that's what I had to do. No matter what, even if it's not ADHD, it not about being crazy or lazy. Depression, anxiety, PTSD and other things also make it difficult to perform up to what you're capable of doing. I had a very wise counselor once that told me that most people most of the time are doing the best they can under the circumstances. Remembering that helps me not judge others or myself so quickly!
