I posted this on another forum and though i'd post it here as well.

Start - 9:04am

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but i was noticing this morning that it usually takes me a very long time to write a reply or post a topic. I have to think about what i'm going to write, write it, read it to see if what i wrote was actually what i was thinking, delete half of it, then end up writing the same thing over again. Then before i hit post.....read it again. I thought it might be fun for everyone to write down the start and finish times when posting. Am i the only one this happens to?

Finish 9:12am

I usually go through the steps you mentioned. It can easily take me 10-20 min. to reply to a topic. I think this is partly because I usually only take the time to respond to topics I feel strongly about. And, if it's a topic I feel strongly about, then I want to express my ideas as completely and effectively as I can, hence the revisions.

This topic, however, is fairly straightforward to me, so...

finish - 12:29pm

Oh, and does anyone else feel the need to constantly edit their posts? I do. As soon as it goes up, I think of things I want to add or correct. And this is after previewing and revising several times in the first place.

It must have to do with the fact that ADDers often never consider something to be "done."

finish - 13:31pm

Well this one will be shorter then normal, but normally I think it takes me a great deal of time. Mainly because I talk, or rather "type" A LOT, to much actually. It's very hard for me to just get to the point. I write a novel, while the next person can essentially make the same point, but in a few sentences:p . It's a very annoying part of me:D .
Then of course I have to proof read so I look semi literate, which I am, but my brain goes faster then my fingers, leaving me looking as if I am illiterate from all the words I skip and thoughts I jump:p (Just like in my proof read where I found I wrote "semi illiterate" instead of "literate", lol)
Then the spell check, because of course, I simply can't spell well :).

After all of that, I generally hit send, read my post again, and almost always find errors.:faint:

10:29 <---Wow, it really does take awhile, much longer then I thought:eyebrow:

It depends on the nature of the post I am answering and if I am in the "zone" or not. If I am in the "zone" my words tend to flow and I only have to check for my omnipresent typographical errors.
Like now :D.

Any where from 3 minutes to 3 hours depending on if I am writing a short reply or a dissertation.

This reply is easy, and I really don't have to formulate my answer before I can type it out.

Usually, it takes me a long long time to reply to posts, and even longer when posting a new thread. I usually take a good while to figure out what I'm really thinking and feeling about whatever the topic is and then it takes a good while to organize my response and actually get it out of my head.

I really think that this keeps me from replying as much as I want to. Although, I have plenty of replies, they're just stuck in my head.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean it takes me forever to make a post cause I usually end up writing things backwards. I usually have to rewrite some part of my post up to 3 times until I get it sounding reasonable. I often write up some posts that are hard to explain and take alot of time doing so and then get it but delete it cause I know some people are not gonna see where Im coming from.

I don't think there's very much accuracy in this test. Putting yourself on the clock seems like it'd stimulate oneself. I can spend 3 minutes on a fairly decent 5 paragraph post or a 30 minutes (I think) on a two sentence post. It's all relative to state of mind. You all are putting yourself on the clock. Even 5 minutes may seem like a long time, but I've seen far worse.

I am hopeless..my replies are often done in seconds, that's why they are usually so short and sweet..I lack the patience to read and write long posts..gee, I wonder why???:faint:

Quite often I will go back and check them later though, to make sure I am making sence :p
