:D LOL..I read a lot of posts..obviously! Now, there are a lot of words that are used in the USA that are completely foreign to me...so I have decided to start a list
If you can think of anymore, or you see any, can you please add them to the list for me :D so I can interperate for you :p or you, for me:faint:
AUSSIEWORDS..............................USAWORDS
bum/***/bottom/butt..................... fanny
fanny............................................ vagina
washing....................................... Laundry
laundry............................ (the room where we do the washing)
slater bug...................................... rolliepolie
rolliepolie.......................... rollover on the floor fowards
trousers (long pants)............................. ???
pants (trousers!).................................... ???
Mum............................................... .. Mom
Truck............................. (huge great thing with lots and lots of wheels)
4 x 4 (4 wheel drive)............................ truck
caravan........................................... ... trailor
trailor.......................... (what we tow behind car to carry stuff)
trailor park.................................... park the trailor!!
nickers/undies....................................... panties



There are so many more that put a huge grin on my face

I don't know if the Aussie words are similar to the English words...

petrol = gas (gasoline)
car park = parking lot
windscreen = windshield
bonnet = hood
boot = trunk
pram = stroller
trousers = pants or jeans

that's all I can think of at the moment

Um we could do this just using the US ya know...like is it "pop", "soda" or "coke"?

And here it is none of the above, its a cold drink!

that's all I can think of at the momentYEP..that's what we say...petrol (gas is for heating) car park, windscreen,bonnet (hood is on a jacket) boot (trunk is what you pack stuff away in to put in storage or something!) pram, can be stroller, but pram more common...

oh, and we say mobile (phone) and not Cell (phone) you get chucked in a cell when you get arrested :p
