I take between 5 -10 mg of Adderall XR and it makes me extremely drowsy / sleepy within a few hours of taking it. Anyone else experience this with this or any or attention deficit drug?

I had this problem with low doses of Adderall XR (10/20 mg). I'd take it at 8 and feel super sleepy by noon. When I went to 30 mg XR, I would be fine until about 3:00. Then the sleepiness would return. So, the psych prescribed 10 mg IR at 2:00, and things have been good ever since. I now get sleepy around 9:30 or 10 pm.

Also, I don't know how long you've been taking it, but the first 1 1/2 weeks of each dose increase put me to sleep. Perhaps your body is just adjusting. ?+

I was put on Adderall, gradually upped to 20ml 2x a day over a couple week time span. I hated it. As a matter of fact I just talked to my dr. today about it. Sure, I was able to focus, when i wasn't so tierd I slept all day or when i wasn't contemplating choking any and everyone that was breathing within earshot. Made me extremely tierd and aggressive. uncool.

However, there are many ppl that find the right dose for them and it works really well. It takes time and great patience to find the right combo of treatment for this type of condition. I hope yours is a short road to success.
