I'm taking Modalert (Modafinil Tablets), I start with 100mg twice a day but it didn't seem to work, so now I'm taking 200mg twice a day but it's still doesn't seem to work. Apparent steady states of total modafinil are reached after 2 to 4 days of dosing. It's been more then 4 days now since I start modalert but I still don't see any result yet. Do I need to increase the dose? How many mg of modalert/modafinil a day someone can take? Anyone here take Modalert, Modafinil or Provigil? If so can you share your experience with it? Hopefully someone can reply soon?

Hey there! I'm on Provigil right now, but because I was utterly exhausted so it's to help me stay awake. I did try it in the past however for ADHD and didn't find it to work. Then again, I only tried it for 2 days I think it was, and then I just gave up on it. I don't know the dosing schedules for ADHD, but in the info I read on the med, usually 200mg is given once a day, and that when 400mg was given once a day, no differences were noted compared to the 200mg once a day.

Anyway, sorry I couldn't be of more help. I wish you much luck in your search for the right med.

Provigil worked for me to promote wakefulness (before Adderall and Ritalin), as an adjunct to an antidepressant. It does not compare, in my experience, with stimulants.

Provigil might work for some adhd people, but not for me.

I think taking Provigil might be a good choice for some people who need to be awake and have bad sleeping/work shift problems, rather than taking stimulants.

After trying ever stim out there besides Adderal, I have to say Provigil is scam atleast for me. I think the military is making a large mistake if they switch to this stuff. It sped me up and that's all it did.

Hi Tom, thanks for the input. :) Are you referring to the clinical trial of pilots on Modafinil? How was your overall functioning and your concentration? I'm a rookie to this site and am researching possible treatments for me that are not amphetamine-based.

Can you tell me about your side effects from Provigil and the other meds you took too please? Sorry to barrage you with questions...:o

Thanks for all of you who had reply to my post, I appreciate it.:) I had stop taking Modalert for a while, I just start taking it again today, 200mg this morning. I guess I need to wait a few days to see if it's helpful. I also take adderall XR 20mg. I wish to be on something who's less addictive then adderall, that's why I'm trying modalert but so far adderall work much better and sooner then modalert. Hopefully with time I can see an improvement with modalert.
