so, i don't know if this is just me or what. yesterday was my first day on concerta 18mg. took it around 11am and had a great day at work. was attentive and didn't get the "bored" feeling at all [even while doing desk work, which would have bored me to death]. well, after i got home and did some work for one of my classes, as i was getting ready to go to sleep, i felt kind of bummed. not depressed, but just bummed out. when i work up i felt fine and i took my pill for today and i still feel fine. does that ever happen to anyone else or is it just a fluke with me?

I felt down for a bit, but I think for me it was just that I was returning to how I feel when not on medication. For me, it's better now, I just had to get used to the medication and I am now working on dosages that last all day. I would say if your only side effect is feeling a bit down, and it's not depressed, just give it a little time see if it gets better.
Good luck!

Same thing used to happen to me Artemis, except my symptoms when they did return became temporarily worse than they were before meds; this is known as "rebound effect", and it also eventually passes, returning me to a "normal" state of symptomatology.
Due to the "worst" of my symptoms being the hyperdrive-minded-continuously-switching-mental-channels, added to the fact that the rebound was occurring first when I needed to be getting my kids ready for bed (dose adjusted), then occurring when I myself needed to fall asleep  (clearly impossible when rebounding, since it was next-to-impossible at "normal" levels before meds), I now stagger my doses so that I am experiencing a fully medicated state all day long.
I would have a go at discussing this with your doctor if it worries you. Hope that helps and keep us updated.
