I'm happy to report that I've landed a GREAT new job. I'm having some anxiety about starting next week, because I know that procrastination is a huge problem for me in the workplace. I had to work very hard to get this job, they think highly of me and I'm terrified to disappoint them.
Does anyone have coping mechanisms they can share in regards to staying on track and staying productive at work?

I'm not ADD, but I do have a fellow at work who I believe has unconfirmed (to me) ADD. He has difficulty completing tasks which are open ended but is able to get his work done much better within a schedule.
All of his work has assigned due dates, and although he procrastinates and is distracted with other things, he is able to get his focus going as the deadlines loom.
The deadlines are enhanced in significance, because his work is reviewed when the due date comes up, as it is with others in the same job.
Imho, it would impress me greatly for a new staff member to automatically create for themselves a schedule for their assignments with due dates and then a meeting with me to review their completed work.
It doesnt matter if you are the only one of the employees to do this.
Not only does it let me know the person is a "get it done" kind of person, but it shows initiative, and that's good too.
Hope this helps, it's so nice to hear you are excited about this terrific job!
