Between the different forms of Ritalin taken, what is your total daily dose?

10mg QID = 40mg for me

Come on WTF takes this?-no one i've ever heard off, the MOST is ~200mgs for a Narcoleptic fellow who took 3, 20 mg Tabs 3-4 X daily, before changing over to Adderall, where he took 2, 30mg IR Adderall, tabs 4x Daily=240mgs=8-30mg IR addys daily!! APPARENTLY his Doc told him not to ask for more!!-NO ****E!!

I was just put on 60mg sustained release in teh morning and 20 mg instant in the afternoon, grand total of 80 mg. :o

I used to take Adderall XR 25mg and now I am on Ritalin SR 20mg once in the morning. Taking the SR 20mg in the morning feels like I'm on 10mg Adderall XR. Would it be ok to take 40mg Ritalin SR(double dose)?

Currently on 40mg IR (20 morning, 20 lunch) but my wife would like me to try 60mg. She thinks it's just about there but not quite. Also on 8mg reboxetine. My psych is allowed to prescribe a max of 60mg ritalin a day for me.

60 mg... but I stopped ritalin for dexedrine.

2 weeks ago 30 ... last week 40 .... now on 50.

how about a quick increase but i am hopefull i can switch to dex soon. in regards of effects and side effects. but in the situation i am now this is how it is.
but unfortunately i am not able to digest that ammount of rit, and function at the same time.

so i ingest 20 mgs a day really :)

60mg, I refuse to have to increase it any higher, I take breaks and that works REAL well for me. For instance, I will take 30 mg one day, then 20mg the next then none for 2 days, then repeat the original dose. THe manufacturer makes a huge difference too, I used to never pay attention to the manufacturer till I realised that I was having bad side effects and came on this site to find out that it WAS a different manufacturer than before....Methilyn, which makes my Add WORSE and is horrible.
Geneva works the best for me, it's like night and day.:)

When I took Ritalin (the LA form) I was taking 10mg 1x a day. It gave me tics so I had to stop it.

To the best of my knowledge IR means Immediate Release...

i was started off with 20mg of ritalin sr which i thought was longer lasting at first, but soon discovered it wasn't. i am now on 40mg ritalin LA. it is working great so far.

you should try rialin LA, the SR doesn't last as long as your adderall did. the ritalin LA works a lot better for me than the ritalin sr did anyway

taking 10mg every two hours starting at 6am (set my alarm, 7 days a week). following doses are in my iPhone alarm, which gives me my choice of sound, so I know it's not a phone call or appointment. This is my second run at it. First run from 10mg/day to 50 mg/day ended about March/07. Was doing fairly well, but in my search for lifestyle help, came across bad advice (for me) to do without meds. Trying to get my doctor to increase, but he hasn't heard of "1-2mg/kg/day" as referred to in "You mean I'm not Lazy, Crazy or Stupid?" and in "My brain STILL needs glasses". Does anyone have any peer-reveiwed references to dosages in that range?

I take 100mg a day in sustained release form. The dose where I really start to notice the effect is at 60mg. Higher than 100mg becomes awkward, no problems while going up, more anxiety, heartrate issues and brainfog when coming down. My doc has said that the usual effective dose of ritalin usually is between 1.0-1.4mg/kg body weight and to me it seems accurate.

Interesting Kingway, is Dex better? What were your symptoms prior to taking it and how did each drug affect them if you don't mind me asking....

I take an enormous 5mg of short-acting Ritalin once or twice a day. I'm super sensitive to medication, and, hey, it works for me!

(I also take 0.15mg Clonidine twice a day for off-label AD/HD use and for controlling blood pressure.)

After 5 years use went from 10mg 2x day, to 20 2x day, to 20 3x day, then 4x at 20mgs each, now hovering around 120mgs.
