Okay, are add/adhd drugs suppossed to help motivate? I took 30ml of Ritalin and was able to get a great deal done, however the second dose of the day was like taking nothing. I am on 54 Concerta and I am able to focus, but am tierd and unable to pry myself outta bed or off the couch.

You know, I don't know.. but this mystery has been plaguing my mind also. Why is it that sometimes, I get so much more done, and other times, I stare into space like a vegetable.. on the same dosage of my medication!!!!
I just don't get it.

I wanted to add that I just read a post by "Emma," a nurse from Canada, under co-existing conditions, and she said that taking klonopin can make a person feel sedated for up to 12-18 hrs later. Well, my last dose of it was at 4 a.m. last night.. so it may not be out of my system yet. That might explain some of this inconsistency in my med performance. Yet, with panic disorder running as a co-existing condition, I still need to take it.

In my experience, the meds don't necessarily give you motivation, but it is easier to get motivated if you take them. (If that makes sense)
I discovered that whatever activity I engage in when the meds start to take effect is what I tend to keep doing. So I try to time it by taking the meds 20 minutes before I need them, and 20 minutes later I force myself to work on what I need to.
If I let myself get sidetracked when then meds start, I may find myself doing the wrong thing, and "switching gears" becomes difficult.
