I was on Adreall XR + Adderall IR for the last month at differnet doses and combinations and my doc suggested I try Concerta because it will last all day. My only problem with the Adreall is that it wears off by mid-afternoon and then I had problems when my dose was too high.

This morning I took 27mg of Concerta...I was "mean Mom" all morning and then at work I felt like I had some sort of super-ADHD and I've been crying..all day...for no reason...just crying. I could hardly get anything done at work and I left at 2 to see my doctor, because I can't spend another day like this. My doctor said, "No more ritalin for you, my dear!"

I'm back on the Aderall XR starting tomorrow. I guess it took trying something new to realize how well the Aderall worked.

you can always try dextroamphetamine in the future. it comes in extended release and in instant release formulations. same family as adderall.

Has your doctor considered letting you try two of the lower dose Adderall XR? If you are having good results with it, just not getting great coverage, sometimes they will let you take another one in the afternoon. Some of us just metabolize the medications really quickly.
