View Full Version : What Would You Invent?
VisualImagery 07-17-06, 08:42 PM What kinds of things would you like to invent or hope someone will invent that could make life with ADD better and easier?
Have some fun with this one! I will post one of mine soon.
Some sort of voice filter to stop me putting my foot in my mouth so often when I just blurt out what's on my mind!
This is one of the coolest threads !!
In my opinion, the best inventions, were created by those with ADD/HD !!
Most of the inventions that I think are helpful, are ones, that have been in use.
But I'll let y'all know, if I come up with a fabulous, original one of my own, LOL!

chloe516 07-17-06, 11:56 PM One of those transporters like in Star Trek (I think it was Star Trek...), so you can be instantly transported to a different place. :p
~boots~ 07-18-06, 12:01 AM LOL...I would like to invent 12 hour, controlled release dexidrine, with an 8 hour sleeping bit added in the middle :-) So, as the dexidrine kicks out, the sleeping magic kicks in...
I'd be happy with that :-)
Crazy~Feet 07-18-06, 01:23 AM A cure for misunderstandings in this world we live in ;).
VisualImagery 07-18-06, 02:03 AM Products I would like to have to accommodate my ADD. Have some fun with this.
1. Implanted micro chip locator/memory assist.
This is an implanted micro-chip linked to memory centers in the brain. When the wearer loses or misplaces something, all he/she has to do is think about the item and, voila! The chip accesses the location stored in the memory.
2. The ultimate, no spill, no drip, no break, no lose travel coffee-mug.
This cup can be tossed, turned upside down, dropped, fall off the roof of a car, take a sippin’ and still no drippin'. After the user takes a drink, it seals with a button on the handle. For embarrassment prevention, a carabineer handle, suction activated bottom, and a powerful magnet would allow the user to attach it to several different surfaces. If the user steps beyond a certain distance, the wrist/necklace transmitter causes the cup to flash a light and emit a selected sound. The sound of an espresso machine would be appropriate here, or perhaps Jeeves reminding me, “Madame, your coffee.” Each mug could be personalized with a logo or letter cutout for the flashing LED reminder/locator light.
3. A wearable transmitter/locator similar to the one mentioned above with small alert devices that can be attached to keys, cell phone, glasses, purses, wallets, planners, essential files, lunch boxes, and other items frequently lost by the user. This is my hi-tech version of the clapper. The transmitter has a variety of locator frequencies and devices. It can be worn around the neck, on the wrist, in the pocket. If an item gets lost, the user just pushes the appropriate button to activate a personalized alert. Different alerts can be downloaded from the internet<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
For my glasses, “I can see clearly now…” <o:p></o:p>
The only problem? What do I do if I lose the transmitter? Hence the implantable microchip above. Kind of like a pet chip for possessions.
You can see I have done way too much thinking about this. I have the coffee stains in my car and my clothes to prove it. I live with carabineers on my keys. My classroom keys and jump drive live on a lanyard around my neck. Need I mention lost paperwork? I have specific places I always put certain things or else. And even if I keep the paperwork together…. Perhaps I should invest (pun alert) in one of those photographer/safari vests that have all the little pockets. But then I have to remember what is in each pocket… <o:p></o:p>
A cancer blood test for women.
For fun: a time machine

Take me back to woodstock :p
~boots~ 07-18-06, 03:37 AM Take me back to woodstock :pLOL..but you weren't there the first time :D
VisualImagery 07-18-06, 10:16 AM Tracy and Animal (I always wanted to be a drummer, with a different beat of course), I got a good laugh about the Woodstock thing. My sister-in-law was there, really.
I had to be a closet hippie and smuggled my hand embroidered jeans to school. I did not do the drug or drinking scenes though-I was an activist at heart.
VisualImagery 07-18-06, 10:17 AM I would like invent total body armor or a protective shield for our troops in war zones. That is if we cannot learn how to live in peace.
Peace out man!
DimensionX 07-19-06, 11:32 AM i would invent a small chip that links to a computer that when programs such as word (or a similar program that is often used for work) is opened up and characters are typed into it, if the characters typed in produce sentences that make sense, after a preset amount of characters the chip activates (located in you head) and releases dophamine making the work your doing enjoyable (of course the amount of dophamine released will be within regulation limits set by the board of health ;) ), with this invention your work will become more enjoyable thus it will be easier to focus on it.
specialised software is required to interface with the chip via a wireless connection (thank god :p ) you can increase the amount of words or pages that you have to type in order for the chip to be ativated, remember (thinking about it now) the chip doesn't release dophamine, just triggers the body to produce it, the user has to specify how long he or she has to work before you can have a break.....i suppose alternatively the chip could trigger the body to release small amounts of adrenaline too (just an after thought) but anyway.....
you could even have a step program, to help increase ones focus on work, step 1 the user has to work everyday producing a small amount of work for a week, step 2 the user has to do a larger amount of work everyday for two weeks and step three the user has to do a large amount of work (working longer and a longer word count before the chip is activated) everyday for 3 weeks, after each stage the software locks the previous stage completed so the user can't go back and do tiny amounts of work for enjoyment, this way buisnesses could use it (....possibly? lol i'm just rambling)
since the software only activates the chip it could be customised (although it would cost more) to serve for different purposes, i.e. it could be used in part as a teaching tool for students making learning fun ;)
also graphics and audio software could be installed for the same kind of use so that it helps composers of art as well (music is an art before you ask :p )
actually thinking about it the software could be pretty much anything as long as the work can be done on a computer, code recognition software anything
the name: the dophatoil chip ;)
slogan: breaking habbits, creating good ones
(that way a person couldn't get defensive and say well,my habbit isn't a bad one so i'm not using that, also it could be used to stop people smoking, theres a whole range of things it could be used for)
of course the amounts that the chip triggers to the body to release has to be researched and tested fully before public production (for health risks and stuff)
