Hi everyone!
As I read the career posts, I see many common difficulties and struggles. I too have struggled and am still struggling. (More on that later.) I would really appreciate some input and insight on the path/s I am considering following. The drummer is different.
A bullet list of my background:
MSED Workforce Education and Development
Family and Consumer Science/Art teacher
Struggled with ADD
Inspired to help the students who fall through the cracks and the kids with LD and ADD
Love researching learning styles, brain-based learning, teaching hard to reach students
Believe study skills, workplace skills, and other issues are key to succeeding in school and career
Believe that ADD is a growing workplace issue that needs people who can educate and train both employees and employers-this is a diversity-disability issue
I want to find a way to blend all this so I can empower people to succeed in life and teach employers the benefits of having ADD employees and ways to maximize their contributions and productivity. I am considering going back for a PhD in Workforce Education and Development.
What do you think? Is there really a need for this? If anyone is in HR or a career counselor, please tell me what you think.
This is one more step in my journey to creating myself. :)
