I've had 7 jobs in 8 years. When it came to letting me go the senerio was always the same - I'd being doing really good at wrok, getting lots of compliments, awards, bonuses, ect.. Then a couple of weeks later I'm pulled into the office and the door shut behind me, and I'm always told the SAME thing.
"I'm so sorry but I'm going to have to let you go. It's just not working out. Your a great person and really good at what you do, but it just is not working out."
Does anyone experience this at their job?
I know what you mean, I havent been fired but when I first started working here it was the same for we. I was always told how great of a job I was doing and all that and now it is like I dont do anything right and it is not good enough. Is it me? I dont think that I am doing anything different.

Does anyone experience this at their job? Yes I relate, I never have a problem getting a job its just keeping it, after a few weeks I'm fired.
My problem is that I loose all interest in my job, not even getting paid is an incentive for me to stay, I just want to leave, i don't care where I go I just don't want to be at work. Thats why i got fired from my last job, I was so bored I couldn't talk myself into staying. I left. Now I think I would have done as much as possible to spark some kind of interest. but its like watching paint dry and I hate watching paint dry....

I can truly relate to this issue. since i started work when i was 17 I have gone thru so many many different jobs that i am losing count. One of the biggest things i am told is that "You are very creative and you work hard but you dont pay attention to the detail and you leave things undone" or "this job is not really for you, Im sure there is one out there someplace that i s right for you." That last one i was almost expecting that i be told we can still be friends though.
Paint drying, attention to detail, organizing the disorganization, breaking down abstract concepts, etc. have been part of my jobs since college. I just want to do a job where I can relate to people and not worry about the detail. I've been at my current job for just over six years! However, there have been numerous projects I could jump to.
At this moment, I realize I'm in the wrong field doing technical analysis! I have to sit in a cubicle and study processes, recommend improvements and plan schedules. The details are going to make me crazy! I can't sit still for more than 5 minutes and am so easily distracted that I can't complete a task.
My current manager recognized my difficulty with details. A former manager said I was a daydreamer. He recommended I get into a sales career since I like to interact and entertain people. ; )
Anyway, I can relate to your experiences. If there were a job in which I could move, move, move and avoid details I would jump at the chance!
