Ok...does anyone else get asked this by their S/O and does anyone else just have NO CLUE what they are thinking when they are asked this?

I seriously never have an answer for this question. I get asked because it's obvious I am thinking about something...yet, I don't ever know what it is or can't ever articulate it:rolleyes:

I honestly don't have a waking moment in which I am not thinking about something! And if you ask me, I can always tell you what I am thinking!

However, when I use to ask my father "What are you thinking about?", he use to reply, "I'm not thinking about anything!" :confused:

Is that even possible???? :confused:

Even when I try not to think, I am thinking about not thinking!

This just boggles my mind!

But I believe my dad, and I believe you too! :)

I bet it would be nice to not think about anything!

My mind does not focus very well, and it has no on and off switch either!

People ask me that a lot and even though I was definitely thinking about things, I can't put my thoughts into words. There are so many thoughts at any given time that I usually say something like "oh, lots of things". They just wouldn't understand how my thoughts digress.

I am thinking I have less than 45 minutes until I leave work! yipee.
I also never have a problem answering that question.
My problem is I have tooooo much on my mind. I wish my body would work as fast as my mind! I would get so much more done!
So 40 minutes and counting and I am free for well a few hours anyway!

Next day and I am still thinking about leaving worK...at least I am consistant.

12:48pm here in Ohio....most of my employees and 1/2 of this place are gone..and now it's like chinese water torture to sit...
it's nice outside,not too hot today....and I WANT TO GO PLAY OUTSIDE!!!!!

I get asked this question quite a bit, but I never answer truthfully. It's a habit of mine to say "nothing", or sometimes to avoid the question in some way. (That's because when I am asked this question, it is normally because I am caught smiling or laughing to myself, and those types of thoughts have to do with my own world, not this one, which is kept very secret!)

Even when I try not to think, I am thinking about not thinking!

Same here. This is a problem when trying to fall asleep. It's like I always have to think about something. When I try to not think, I have to think about things I normally wouldn't have to think about (like breathing).

Mostly during the day, I am thinking about something, and it's rare that I think about nothing whatsoever. When my mind does go completely blank for any period of time, it is usually unintentional.

A better question-What am I not thinking about. My ADD brain can think about so many things at once. At least the meds cut down on the number a bit.

This is what makes us so productive-Normal brains must be soooooo boring.:D

How much longer til my cheese steaks get here?
Did I put the windows up on my car?
Is it going to rain?
Did I remember to (list of things here)?
Was that the phone?
Was that the door?
The kids are on my last nerve, and it's a good thing I love them so much...
Guilt for being irritated with my kids.

Is it bedtime yet?
Ring, phone, ring.
Why do I feel like I'm having an anxiety attack?
I want total silence, and then when it's totally silent, it's too quiet and I want noise...but then if I have noise, it drives me nuts...I can't win. Sighs.

The only place it's never quiet is in my own mind.

Most of the time, I can’t articulate what I am thinking. I think in sights, sounds, feelings, smells, ect. I usually am thinking more than one thing at a time. Besides if I wanted to share my thoughts I would do so, I am in no way an introvert by any stretch of the imagination. Not wanting to be rude I simply feel like there are times in order to communicate what is going on inside my head I would have to draw a picture and / or write a book and I am neither an artist nor am I inspiring to be an author.

I am thinking that I have regained my emotional strength and confidence to send my resumes to schools in the area. Who knows if a teacher might quit.

I am thinking I need to polish my Learning style session proposal for the October teacher institute (No, they don't put us in rubber rooms or special jackets.)

I am thinking about how much the support I get on this site means to me.

I am thinking that I really like myself.

I pretty much always answer, truthfully, "I don't know." Mostly, I don't know where to start. Plus, by the time I actually said whatever I'd been thinking about in the prior minute (including side tracks and diversions), the other person would be gone or bored to death.

If I put him in my room close the door so he can't get out he will whine, If I go in my room and close the door so he can't get in he will sit out side the door and whine . . . . .man finally did go to work well he went out side any way.

I just had to call my doctor and ask him to go ahead and write the prescription to a medication that is going to cost me $350.00 for a month. I have to take it for three at least. . . . . .need to learn bank robbing. . . . .could you see an easily distracted ADD woman trying to focus long enough to remember she is robbing some thing? Plus I would feel bad when I scared people and I couldn't shoot any body, and that would probably be obvious to every one because I am way transparent. So I am hoping for a money tree! Problem is you got to have money to buy a money tree rather counterproductive is it not?

I am thinking how glad I am to have friends on this forum-I will survive-

I am thinking that stress must be the big bonzer thing that makes my neck arthritis become blindingly painful and am cogitating how to keep that from happening again. Hoover dam-it hurts, time to go to bed let sleep numb it.

My arthritis is nutso right now too RADD. It was not as hot but extremely humid today and well, dampness is dampness.

Why am I not in bed right now? I have been tired...um since I got up at 6:15am this morning, but yet I am here at the computer....and my head hurts and my eyes are tired...and ....oh god....ok I'm thinking I have issues don't I :D
