I am thinking of leaving my job. How much is COBRA coverage for a single, healthy male? I would just need the health insurance, no other coverage.

In New Jersey Cobra was around 350.00 - 400.00 per single person could be more...not sure. I think it depends on what state you live in and whether or not a company is big enough to offer Cobra. If they have 50 or more employees they qualify...if less, then you have the option of continuing your current insurance at the rate the company was paying and the company you worked for bills you directly.

That is honestly sort of on the high side
When I looked for Health Care before (before I had my current job) it was only 180 a month through Blue Cross and Blue Shield

It differs from plan to plan and job to job.

Cobra is very pricey, generally, to continue your coverage from your employer past your employment. Blue Cross, has a great individual plan I was on before I got on with a large company. They were very good. Some individual plan would be much more economical. I wonder if most of the people who decide to stay on with cobra is for "insurability" reasons, meaning they may end up paying more on an individual plan because of their specific health issues, or would have waivers and such on an individual plan. Remember, cobra is pretty unconditional as far as coverage. Individual plans can do whatever they like.
