I have a question...Sometimes when I'm having a really frustrating day, I will go to some place like Target on my lunch. I never buy anything but just walking around for an hour seems to calm me. It seems weird because it's a filling of the senses and if I'm frustrated, why would this calm me down?

I'm like this too. For me, it's being around people, which I like, but not having to interact with them, lol. Also being by myself, looking at things I like, and the exercise that comes with it.
As long as I'm not in a very busy, people filled place, then it's calming to me too.

It calms you, in my humble opinion, because it plays right into your ADD. Malls and big stores like Target have all kinds of distractions that are harmless. You can occupy your brain without any repercussions. Hence, your ADD is busy and you can run on auto-pilot. I do the same thing a lot, but my Target is watching bits and pieces of several TV shows on at the same time, or madly surfing the Net.

I play solitaire or a word game on the PC. In stores I spend money.

Games occupy one part of my brain so the subconscious can sort things out. At least that is my theory.

Thanks for all the replies! When I look at it like that, it makes perfect sense.
